| Androlphas03-19-05, 01:25 PM | I apologize if this has been discussed before, but the search feature appears to be broken and I couldn't find any other threads about this. With that said: I'm currently running Shadows of the Last War. The PCs have made it to Whitehearth and during the course of the adventure I've discovered a problem not in the official errata: the placement of the keycharms appears to be wrong! If you run the adventure with the keycharms as placed, it's impossible to enter areas W19 (Room of Broken Light) and W20 (Scrying Room). In addition, there's no purple keycharm anywhere (not that it's really important since it leads to a dead end). The problem is not really that bad since by finding what I believe to be a misplaced red keycharm in area W11 (Captain of the Guard), you can reach the final area of W22 (Machine Chamber) and bypass areas W19 and W20 completely. The way I'm thinking of fixing this, is to turn the red keycharm in area W11 into a yellow keycharm. This allows the players to access areas W19 and 20 and eventually find the red keycharm placed there. I believe this is how it was originally meant to be. As to the purple keycharm, I'll throw it in there too as a red herring:schemes: Has anybody run this adventure and encountered this problem? How did you deal with it? |

I don't think that those hallways are actually supposed to be dead ends, just that there is no way that the PCs can get there, so they didn't draw the map. It says in the area 19 description that you need a yellow to get in, but it must be a typo: If you look at the map on page 29 and the panels on page 25, you need an orange, not a yellow. Yes, I did see this problem, and spent quite a lot of time trying to figure it out before I noticed that. |
