| kokukitty12-29-06, 12:34 PM | Hello all. I'm in the process of planning a Sharn campaign and was looking at the Bank section. Besides the basic services (Arcane Seal and Lock, Explosive Rune) has anyone played with setting up a loan system and safety deposit box system? Any help would be great! Thanks. |

They only deal loans to royalty, dragonmarked houses, guilds and other large organizations. That list excludes most PC's, as they probably won't be in a position to speak for an entire organization in a financial capacity. |

| Forgivance12-30-06, 08:20 PM | I personally do loans with 10% interest rate if they are in good standing with the bank. If the characters are unknown to Kundarak (below lvl 5 or for roleplay reasons) than it's 20% interest (accrued per month) and the amount to be loaned would not exceed 100 gold pieces per level unless it is for a permanent fixture (such as a house), than I will do as much as 500 gold per level, though the transaction is in bank note writen to purpose, not just gold coin handed over (so the PCs don't get a sack of gold to spend on anything they want)... In addition, geas or any number of spells (contingent style curses) are applied with any substantial loan...and all loanies are looked at through a gem of true seeing before being accepted to ensure you are dealing with a person and not some half-blood changeling! :p |

Adventurers on the other hand rarely have a permanent address, are members of a high risk profession, have no steady income, and are generally very bad investments in the eyes of House K. For adventurers I'd imagine a VERY harsh VERY steep interest rate. Think of it from the bank's perspective. "Well this war hero swordsmen wants a loan to fund his expedition to unknown reaches of Xen'drik. Where he'll probably die... but if he actually comes back he'll be loaded with treasure and artifacts.... 45% interest sounds about right." Which is probably why the EBCS suggest private patrons. |
