Lady Vol offically stated out!!! [Archive] - Wizards Community

It's not official stats for RPG. They're making it up.

The mini is UGLY! Were they trying to emulate the Wayne Reynolds version gracing the cover of Faiths of Eberron?

Stats for it's minis are not considered official for the D&D game any more than Superman's stats on his heroclix are considered official D&D stats.

And like was already said, we already have official standing on her being a wizard, not a sorcerer, so the mini is ALREADY wrong.

Aka, ignore it, it has nothing to do with Eberron.

05-03-07, 10:27 PM Well, on the other hand, that COULD be the error of the reviewer. I sorta doubt it, since it's pretty obvious when looking at a card when a character is a sorcerer or not, but there's always a chance.

Child by what stardard? For Elfs a child is till they are like what, 30? What about a Dragon, 200? She could be around 40 when she bacame a lich and was still called a child. But, by now she's older then most Great Wyrms so I think's she's grown up a little in that time. The Keeper of the Flamer however...

05-04-07, 09:41 AM I don't think the mini looks that bad. Maybe it looks a little too cliché and big bad evil undead, but I have no problem with the hat. It looks kinda mayan/inca, just like the culture of the elves and the former giants of Xen'drik, both places where the blood of vol has its roots as a religious dogma.

05-04-07, 10:24 AM I'll admit, I do like the Mesoamerican style there... but yeah, as a whole the mini is um... rather "meh." The "Big Bad Evil" was probably not the way to go. I've made my preferences on the matter of Vol clear before, but perhaps they wouldn't translate so well to a collectible miniatures game.

Though that begs the question: does Erandis really belong as a DDM fig? I mean, do we need a Manshoon or Mordain the Fleshweaver fig?

I don't see a *need* for it, but as an Eberron fan and a casual DDM player, it's nice to see some representation for the setting there. I guess they felt the need to balance out some of the 'iconic' characters from their various settings. *shrug*

05-04-07, 12:47 PM Remeber that some Aerenal like the whole "Dead for a good few months" look because it signifies that they do not care about fleeting mortal beauty and are prepared for undeath.

If you just wanted a ticket to eternal life and youth you should become a vampire or, yes, find a lich salon. But Vol's got that whole "Queen of the dead" gig going on.
That said, she really needs to ditch the hat.

She's breaking other rules and is pretty unique anyway, so that doesn't trouble me so much. Actually, we should probably be grateful that there doesn't seem to be some kind of mechanic included for her non-fuctional Mark of Death.

(Edit: Oh, crap. What if that's what her hinted-at commander effect is? :pbbbtt:)

So why not some actual iconics? Like Baristi or something.

So this is hardly the official Vol. Personally, I hope they don't stat out Lady Vol at any point. You gotta keep these mythic types mysterious....let DMs come up with their own. :)
