| Trieze Kross11-27-05, 04:42 PM | This is simple enough, who would benifit the most if the last war started up again. |
| ValaR11-27-05, 04:47 PM | Valenar elfs and dark forcess, I gess. |
| Ibbins11-27-05, 05:06 PM | I asked the same question a few months ago, and got some pretty nice answers. The thread is here. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=468826) |
| Trieze Kross11-27-05, 05:09 PM | Thanks, reading it now |
| Trieze Kross11-27-05, 05:44 PM | QUick quewstion, how woudl you guys start the next war if you were one of the ogranizations. I'm thinking terrorist attacks. Kinda like mirroring the current world in it. But how would you do so. |
| Ibbins11-27-05, 05:58 PM | Thinking along the lines of some of the nastier factions in Eberron, I'd do something to spark a fight between two enemy factions, and let them beat eachother up for a while before I got involved myself. Generating the first fight could be fun; send some troops disguised as soldier from one faction and have them attack the other. |
| Psionycx11-27-05, 06:31 PM | Two words: Dreaming Dark. Possessing alumni of the Rekkenmark Academy would gain enough militarily powerful individuals to provoke a first shot, probably against Thrane. If this could be coincided with an assassination of King Boranel in Breland, resulting in government stability while the republican and monarchist factions are in conflict, that would be enough blood in the water to lure Queen Aurala of Aundair into the fray hoping to snatch up some Brelish real estate. The Brelish parliament would go running directly to Merrix d'Cannith, who would reveal that he does indeed have the means to produce new warforged. In light of events nobody would care that this breaches the Thronehold treaty. Karrnath (whether Kaius likes it or not) would be forced to field their undead armies. Mayhem ensues. Riedra then offers "support" to one or more nations, as well as "diplomatic negotiators", who would then be better positioned to to put the telepathic moves on Khorvaire's heads of state. |
| Trieze Kross11-27-05, 07:01 PM | I was thinking something like that but more in-depth. Taking one the groups that have a lot of contacts and starting cells, much like terrorist cells. Don’t tell the whole plan to all of them, just bits and pieces to get them involved. Maybe just outright lie to them. The goal? Cause as much chaos, tension and hatred as possible. Have the warforged get components that act like bombs, thus making them suicide bombers. Maybe having Mournland crew behind this. This would cause nations the attacks are against uneasy in the terms of the populace. Warforged would be picked up and taken away to be questioned. Eventually they would start riots and revolt maybe. That would be the warforged taking actions against their opressiers. Some one move to the Mournlands in the welcoming arms of the warforged nation that is forming as more and more come so they aren’t oppressed no longer. They simply flee to this and strengthen the warforged nation. This is what the warforged have to gain by sending suicide bombers. The gnomes could have a rogue faction in their ranks that is working under the eye of their secret police. Maybe even working for it. This group could be working for the gnome nation as well, trying to improve their stance in the world. They are attacking ships by the use of submarines that attack quickly and then salvage from the wreckage beneath the waves out of site of the ships owner’s eyes. This would cause tension to rise ummong the coastal nations that need the sea. They may even blame the llhazaar princes. The princes could get jealous and start to attack each other trying to find out how to do this ultimate type of piracy. Its all from jealously and greed. We have all seen fight club the movie and some may have even read the book. Have something like this happen in sharn or another major city. Maybe even have franchises set up all over the world. Alchemist working for these cells could poison food and water in the larger cities causing chaos. A group could take diseased vermin from one area to another causing an out break of disease and chaos. Cells could infiltrate governments and factions to get that group to see the cells ideas as their own. Sharn’ sewer systems could be loaded with explosives causing the great towers to fall to the ground. Random murders and wounding could cause tension between ethnic groups. Assignation attempts that are supposed to fail and some that isn’t. Causing muntinaty in the ranks of groups and factions. Book burnings. Breaking down prison walls and lettings those inside loose to cause chaos. Genocide Making false threats to cause uneasy feelings. Taking hostages and letting those situations drag on and on until they kill the hostages and themselves. Bombing markets and everything else at random times and places. Anything to cause chaos and tension between the nations of Eberron. |
| Ibbins11-27-05, 07:41 PM | Well it looks like you've got your bases covered. The Emerald Claw would fit the bill for a widespread terrorist organization. As for the suicidal warforged, the WFs are likely too expensive for anyone to want to them to go blow themselves up, but with a little customization(magical fire resistance), and having the warforged more like flamethrowers and less like living sticks of dynamite, you could make warforged bombers that survive their own bombing missions. Concerning gnomes... Zil gnomes use words first and it never fails. They became an independent nation without fighting any battles at all, remember. It's unlikely that they would ever start destroying/stealing enemy supplies. The rest of it is perfect; far too much for a single party of PCs to handle, and that's always a good thing. ;) |
| Trieze Kross11-27-05, 09:12 PM | For a richious cause, a few dead warforge isn't much. If the groups were to get several more warforge to join them because of the aftereffects, i don't tihnk they would histate to take a simple warforged and turn it into a bomb. Now that i think of more, the gnomes probly wouldn't do it themselves, but what is stopping them from suppling one to other countries or organizations. Or maybe a gnome adventure settled down and started to do it for the princes or some one else. As for the pcs, I plan on making a series of champains that are parrel. Some could be evil and helping the choas, or others working for various organizations to stop the choas. |
| Psionycx11-27-05, 09:40 PM | The warforged might have been tricked. The bombs could be disguised as a warforged component, but in effect it is a cursed item designed to give off some destructive energy release when some precondition is met. |
| Trieze Kross11-27-05, 10:13 PM | That coudl do very nicely. As for the airships and lightning rail. How intact are they and how offen are they used. |
| darkthought11-27-05, 11:24 PM | Two words: Dreaming Dark. (snippy-snip) Riedra then offers "support" to one or more nations, as well as "diplomatic negotiators", who would then be better positioned to to put the telepathic moves on Khorvaire's heads of state. Heh, that would be interesting if they tried it on Kaius. Anything mind effecting will flat out fail against him. Of course, then the DD can send everyone else against Karrnath and let slip that he's a Vampire. |
