In the Libris Mortis Book (a great book, by all means) there is a very cool feat called Lasting Life. It allows you to make a save to shrug off negative levels. Very cool. The prerequisites are Endurance and Enduring Life.

This makes sense since Enduring Life allows you to ignore the effects of negative levels for 1 minute x your CON modifier. (Meaning a character with 15 CON can ignore the negative levels for 2 minutes.) Cool stuff. Here's my beef...

While Lasting Life has 2 prerequisites, Enduring Life has none. The reason I am confused about this is that there aren't usually independent feat prereqs that fall outside of a specific tree.

I am wondering why Enduring Life would not have the prereq of Endurance when Lasting Life has the prereqs of both Endurance and Enduring Life. Nes Pa?

No offense, but why is this on the Eberron boards?

As for what you are saying, it seems to make sense. Why doesn't it require endurance? I don't have the book, so that's all the help I can offer.

The reason I posted it here is because, for some reason, the people who frequent the Eberron boards respond quicker and more intelligently... :D

Thanks for your input, Dex.

Doesn't mean you should abuse that with mundane question not pretaining to Eberron...

As for your question, it's fine the way it is, one lets you ignore for a short while and the other lets you ignore for a longer time, no problem.

And please, for future reference, don't put non-Eberron topics on these boards, thanks.

I enjoy these boards too, and it's not very hard to turn a non-Eberron topic into one that works great for Eberron.

Is this for an Eberron character, an Eberron NPC, or something of that sort, than yes, it has at least something to do with the setting. Personally, I've found Libris Mortis to be quite handy with the Blood of Vol (for obvious reasons).

Thanks, Dex. And, yes, this is in regaurds to an Eberron Character. I had no idea I was even able to abuse the right to post questions, but I guess you learn something new everyday!

My character is a Human Paragon 3/ Fighter 4. He is an agent of Breland, working for the Dark Lanterns. He's an undead hunter working in Karnath. By day he's a diplomat, by night he's a stalker of the things that go bump in the night.

If the Libris Mortis feat, Enduring Life is truly missing a feat, then I've got to adjust my feats to allow for Endurance (which would suck).

It's most likely correct. Usually, the feats chain up, but not always. Example Whirlwind Attack: You need the Spring Attack chain, plus Combat Expertise, which has nothing to do with the Spring Attack chain. Or Shot on the Run, which requires the Mobility chain plus Point-Blank Shot (hmm.. wizards is inconsistant here... either Whirlwind Attack and Shot on the Run should be put under Dodge, since that chain has the majority of the prerequisites, or Shot on the Run alone should be put under Dodge, as it's the first time it *could* appear on the list.)
