I've decided that I would like a new Eberron source book. I'd like to know which book you would recomend most strongly out of Magic of...,Sharn, Explorer's, Secrets of Xen'drik or Sarlona. If you could tell me why, that'd be really appreciated. Thanks.

Magic of Eberron is a good general use book. Explorer's is alright, but not as useful as Magic of, imho. Sarlonna and Xen'drik are good, but mostly useful if you intend to place some part of your current game in the local.

I assume all you have at this point is the ECS? I think the no-brainer for your second book would be "Sharn: City of Towers". Sharn is the place where anything and everything can and do happen. It's "the gateway to Xen'drik". The very first published adventure ("The Forgotten Forge" in the ECS) is set in Sharn for a reason. It's the iconic locale of Eberron. I would strongly encourage you to pick this one up first. The only minor complaint I've ever heard about it is that the "map" of the city isn't consistent from the ground up through the highest structures. Is this important?? Not to me. This book is fantastic and and must have for anyone intending to play in Eberron. Buy this book!!

Seconded.
Unless you're planning on sending your players to Xen'Drik or Sarlona then S:CoT is absolutely second on the list right behind the ECS.

I don't have Sharn, City of Towers or the Explorer's Handbook but I've heard that S,CoT is really good, and Magic of Eberron actually kinda dissapointed me, I don't know exactly why though. Probably the complete absence of warforged components (my warforged character owns a shop called Pimp My Warforged, and any book without warforged components is pretty useless to him).

I've read through Secrets of Xen'drik, Explorer's Handbook, and Sharn: CoT, and I would have to say that each is good in it's own right, but since loads of games are based in Sharn, or you'll pass through it at the least, it's a handy sourcebook.

EH has some nifty PrC though, I want to make myself into a Thunder Guide.

Magic of Eberron has warforged components in it. They are just Psioinic oriented ones.

I have the campaign setting, players guide, races of, faiths of, dragonmarked, and five nations. But from what you and shady said, it sounds like I'll be adding sharn to that list soon.

I strongly suggest you pick up Sharn City of Towers if not only for the fact most stories have some link to that place BUT it holds the npc info for the Artificer class which you will find very useful if you intend to allow the class or want npc versions available.

I didn't talk about it, since it wasn't in the list of the original post, but Sharn:CoT is definitely a great book. I tend to think of it as the starter companion to the ECS, since so many Eberron adventures feature Sharn in some way.

SoX is a great book - fav of the onesI have. only problem is that it is nearly useless outside of Xen'drik.

So very, very true. I liked reading it, and the thing that's trapped under the frozen sea answered a question I had about Eberron.
