I don't know anyone who plays in RL, so it's sort of hard to learn. I'm looking for suggestions on where I could possibly learn online, or at least enough so that I could teach a few friends to play.

I'd like to learn 3.5 edition rules, and probably the Ebberson campain, since I'm looking into getting www.ddo.com when it comes out.

I'm not sure of anywhere to learn online. You could read the SRD (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35) (system reference document, basically the core rules stripped bare and concise), but I wouldn't recommend that to a new player. However, I do recommend picking up the core books (DM's Guide, Monster Manual and Player's Handbook) and teaching yourself if you can't find anyone to teach you. Its not the easiest way to learn, but its how my first group formed.
Nice to know you are interested in Eberron (thats Eberron, not Ebberson). However, the Eberron book introduces a few complex additions that I wouldn't recommend straight away (such as the artificer), but they wont affect your game at all if you don't use them. There is a sample adventure called the Forgotten Forge which appears in the back of the Eberron book, and this could be perfect for kicking off an all new campaign.

Haha, oops at that typo *Ebberon.

Thanks for all the tips, I actually purchased the 3.5 core books awhile ago, I guess I'll have to try and learn it myself. So the Ebberon book, is that just one book about the new world?

You did it again, its Eberron (one B, two Rs) ;)

There are a lot of Eberron books out there (Eberron Campaign Setting, Races of Eberron, Five Nations, Sharn: City of Towers, Explorer's Handbook, Magic of Eberron), but you should start with the core Eberron book (titled simply the Eberron Campaign Setting). That book has more than enough to get you started :)

Thanks, I appreciate your help. You've been very informative. And if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears. =)

Try this

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/whatisdnd

it covers the basics and contains a demo that'll teach you how to play.

Hope this helps
