So my players are wanting to send in orders for some items they cant get in the city they are in, and they want to have them shipped to their location... How much would you say something like this would cost? How long would it take? What could be the drawbacks? Perhaps if the items are really valuable you could purchase insurance on the item being delivered just in case it doesn't make it to you? Also, how would you secure payment for such an item? It would seem risky to send money via the mail... did I read somewhere that there are banks in Eberron? Could you do a bank transfer? Also what's to say the person you are ordering your item from is honest and will actually send you your item? The more I think about this the more I see how risky it could be, but wouldn't that be amazingly convienent if you could do this reliably?

What is your advice?

You can have bank transfers.

Insurance would be between 5-10% of item depending on value and where it would be traveling, I think.

I don't see any reason that you would consider this risky house Orien make trip all the time and don't run into problems, much.

Time you could figure using the travel rules in the DMG.

Cost: check mail service on page 121 ECS book 1sp per mile.

I think it says in the book that House Kundrak have a service which allows you to put an item in a safe deposit box in one place and retrive it from a different box on the other side of the continent.

Though I suspect such a service would be severly in demand or quite costly to supply.
