Mecha in Eberron [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-27-05, 12:45 PM I am thinking of adding mechs from the d20 book Dragonmech, and I am wondering if anyone else has done this (or something along these lines). I figure that at least smaller mechs (size large and huge) can be portrayed as a human piloted precursors of the warforged and mobile artillary. There seems to be quite a few autonimous magitech warmachines in Eberron already, so I don't think it would be thematically out of place to have piloted ones. Anyone have any thoughts on this idea?

07-27-05, 12:51 PM I think it could work. Another cool idea might be to have some of the mechs be giant warforged components: a warforged could get in the cockpit and "merge" into the control panel, and then control the mech as if it were his own body.

07-27-05, 01:44 PM That is a sweet idea. Running with it, I might build a few feats that greatly enhance the abilities of a warforged to pilot a mech.

You would think that a giant warforged mech would have gotten eventually destroyed during the Last War, with it being a war and all. If anyone ever asks to run mechs in my games, I just tell them they all were destroyed. :-D lol (Too much like Gundam Wing)

Well seeing as how the Creation Forge technology was supposed to have been based on the giants' technology in Xen'Drik, it seems pretty likely that the giants would have built giant-sized warforged as well as the smaller ones. So if you didn't want to have mechs around in Khorvaire, there could always be a secret abandoned underground Creation Factory somewhere in Xen'Drik, just waiting for the PCs to discover it. Of course, they'd better hope the Lord of Blades doesn't find it first...
