| andrewknaut01-06-08, 02:43 PM | I have been thinking of a new campaign for some time were I take the Eberron world and make it a very bad place to be. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to help me, mainly villains I haven't thought of or what I could do with different nations. This is what I have so far: It is 100 years after the treaty was made. In that time several things have happened. 1) Vol has come back (obviously) and is making packs with different powers to put a foot hold into the world. 2) The Lord of Blades is getting funding as well as council from Vol and is striking out at cities around them. The mist still covers the mournland, and the Lord of Blades is taking it as his kingdom, wanting to be recognized as a nation. 3) Vol has killed King Kaius and taken Karrnath for her self. 4) The silver flame has died, releasing Tira Miron, the demon, and rainbow winged serpent. The demon kidnaps a now elderly Jeala Daran and brings her to the Demon waste, and Tira Miron takes rule over Thrane. However with all the evil around her she is blind by any good that could come to Eberron and goes on an other inquisition, but this time against the world. 5) Aundair and the Elder Reach come together to become a stronger force to fight against both Thrane and Karrnath and become the Andair Reaches. 6) The houses are starting to take sides in this fight. Sivis joined Vols side almost right away, and she also has House Cannith by helping Baron Zorlan take control of the house. House Jorasco helps Vol but dose not like it, they just had their house headquarters in the wrong place. 7) The Halflings have disappeared and no one knows were they are. Warforged and undead solders alike have made several raids into the plains, but could find no sines of any life. 8) Droaam has become a safe haven for the huminoid races. The hages realized they need to bring in more fighters if they want to keep themselves alive, and they have no love for Vol or what she intends on doing so they try to stop the attacks against non violent humioneds as much as they can. 9) The demon waste has become active with one of its more powerful demons back in its boarders. They stand against Vol as well as Droaam, the Lords of Dust almost worried they could be harmed with the mark of death back. 10) Breland is now being run by democracy, which has made the land fall apart. Corrupt land owners and guards now run the nation. Sharn is going to be played out like Gothem. Thats my basic idea so far. If anyone could give me some ideas, or point out anything stupid I put in (such as specific people should be dead) than tell me. Thanks a lot |
| Mistress_of_Mockery01-07-08, 05:53 PM | I like it. Especially the Sharn = Gotham deal, I'm loving that... Mind if I steal that? Of course you don't. Anyways... Dealkyr: The various Cults of the Dragon Below have managed to destroy the seals that kept Xoriat at bay. The Daelkyr hordes have terrorized the lands and pretty much destroyed every last Orc. Dreaming Dark: The Dreaming Dark has been set free from its crazy place on the Dal Quor and has broken into Eberron (keep this overseas, its probably powerful...), Quori come along with it. Aurum: (or whatever) Manages to take over the Mror Holds and has made an alliance with Vol (being so close to the Lhazaar Principalities). Prophecy: Someone has tampered with the Prophecy. Time for the Dragons to get involved and take them out... and perhaps the rest of Khorvaire with them. Lords of Dust: Don't know too much about them... Mournland: The Mournland's misty borders have spread slowly... but over a hundred years that's a lot. |

I also like a lot the Sharn=Gotham idea, I'm using something similar in my own game (not as dark as Gotham could be... but quite enough). |
| ChaoticGood01-10-08, 01:52 AM | My DM is already doing something like this, with Riedran agents intentionally restarting the war between Karrnath and Thrane by placing a usurper in the seat of Speaker of the Flame and declaring a crusade against undead. Remember, wherever there is conflict on Khorvaire, those nice people from Riedra are sure to show up to lend a helping hand... "What? Oh, that egg-shaped tower our soldiers are building? That's just to help us help you more efficiently! There's no need for you to worry about it at all..." Well, I think Riedra is the one behind it, at least. I suppose it could be the Lord of Blades, in league with the Blood of Vol, or Riedra, or both(!), hoping to simultaneously cripple both countries so they will be ripe for invasion... You never can be too sure about these things. |
| Garandene_Lyrandar01-12-08, 02:26 AM | I have some ideas... 1) The dreaming dark rule Thrane, initially they mind seeded Clerics of the silver flame after the flame was destroyed and gathered followers of the path of inspiration setting up monoliths and running it like Riedra, it is extending its hold into Breland. 2) Q'Barra now has taken over Lhaazar and that whole area 3) Sharn is begining to crumble, the manifest zone is breaking and no one knows why. The city has been evacuated and towers are collapsing. It is a ghost town which would be a great spot for an adventure. 4) The mark of death has been restored 5) The dragons of Argonessen have declared war but were crushed by the qouri which due to chance were able to manifest on the continent, though for some reason nowhere else. The remaining dragons have reverted to a primative state and the quori now control the prophesy. 6) Dragon shards are turning to coal and the owners of dragonmarks are suffering painful deaths at the hands of an epidemic of the mysterious dragon fever. It seems that the prophecy is being eradicated by some mysterious power. Love the idea especially the halflings!!! |
