Can Mind Seed be somehow reversed (after it's fully germinated and fully "in place")? ...if so, how?

Furthermore, if it can be reversed, what state would the person be in after it has been reversed? ...would they remember nothing since the mind seed took hold? ...would they remember everything?

Basically, the PCs in my campaign have stumbled upon...
...the infiltration of Sharn Deneith by the DD (though only the Kalashtar has figured out precisely that it's the DD at work... the others just know something seriously wrong is afoot). Long story short, they have captured one of the Mind Seeded heirs... was just curious if there is any way they could either "cure" her or use her to their advantage in the coming plan to rescue a friend of theirs that's being held in the Sharn Deneith enclave...

first of all you should probably spoiler out that tidbit of information out, some people on these boards are players that don't want to know secrets such as that.
2nd, A wish or Miracle Spell could probably do it as could Reality Revision (Possibly manifested in conjuction with Phychic Chirgery), based on DM fiat. You could always use the "partial" or "Unintended" versions of these effect, say allowing them to regain their original personality, but they forget everything that happened to them since they were mindseeded, or since the were 16, or something to that effect.

Unfortunately these powers and spells are probably out of the realm of possibility for most PCs, and in the end it is up to the DM if the Wish ends up working. Mind seed is supposed to be VERY hard to get around, which is why it is a major weapon of the dreaming dark.

A quest for a kalashtar Eldritch Machine seems like a good idea to me.

Mind Seed's a powerful tool of the DD, but the kalashtar *must* have a weapon against it, somewhere ... it's just not easy to get to, or it requires special materials to activate.

Fair enough :)

Side-question (more of a varification, as I'm fairly confident I know the answer): A Mind Seeded person is not considered "possessed" for the purpose of detecting possession, correct? ...it's not a "possession", but instead a "re-writing" of their mind (so to speak), right?

By my reading of the rules, you are correct. It's not possession at all....

Yeah, my players discovering about the mind seed tactic through the kalashtar PC in the party drove most of them to a fear of sleeping and dreaming, and one of them is practically insane with paranoia after waking up from the two hours of sleep he needs (via ring of sustenance). He's always asking the kalashtar (who is an atavist) to detect posession on everyone they meet, and on other party members periodically, just in case there's a Quori in there ready to mind seed.

Ok, I was wondering. Where are the rules that describe Mindseeds? You hear about them all the time but I have not been able to find a concrete description of the process in any of the books I have. Thanks.

Then you probably don't have the Expanded Psionics Handbook. It's a telepathy power.

A Forgotten Realms novle about the Yuan-TI had a good example how Mindseeded pawns might act. It was a novel loaded with Psionics.

It wouldn't really be a "good example" if they acted any way other than as themselves. All the old memories are still there, and the new personality knows better than to expose itself. It knows why it was put there, because it's the exact same personality as the person or creature who manifested the power. So it would continue acting exactly as it would normally act, so as not to arouse suspicion.

Actually, that's exactly wrong. The seeded personality displaces the memories of the original, so DD agents spend time learning all about their targets' mannerisms, secrets (through telepathic scans in dreams or otherwise), etc before seeding. They then cover up for any flaws in their impersonation by reading the thoughts of those they deal with.

I didn't know that! Well thankee sir! That's most helpful, actually, as it lets me off the hook for what I thought was a DM foul-up. Now, it has a mechanical justification! :)
