miniatures question [Archive] - Wizards Community

Hopefully this isn't too stupid a question but I was wondering if there are any metal miniatures released for Eberron? I happen to like painting my own characters and prepainted minis really let me down.

09-20-05, 10:59 AM AS far as I know there are no eberron specific metal minatures available. Is there any reason why you couldn't just repaint the D&D minatures to meet your tastes? I would think that a quick coat of primer to give you a blank slate would keep you from being distracted by the existing colors.

09-20-05, 02:38 PM Depends on the type of primer you use.

A light spray primer (I generally use Armory spray-primer and Citadel spray-finish) will collect less in the detailed areas and will still cling enough to repaint.

Just hold the spray can at the greatest distance from the miniature that you can and still get it to adhere and you won't have to worry about covering up detail with new primer.

I also remember seeing a thread about removing the existing paint from these plastic miniatures somewhere ... but I don't have it bookmarked AND, of course, the search doesn't work.

You might want to ask on the Miniatures group if anyone does remove the paint without slagging the mini.
