I wonder if Im a special case, or if a whole batch got botched.

My book skips from p.128 to p.178, continues until p.192, and then jumps back to p.145 and continues normally until the end of the book.

Also, p.156 has a large black splotch right in the middle of it.

No you are not. There are a few other threads where consumers claim the VERY same thing.

Yes, it's a known issue. Call Wizards' customer service and they should be able to help.

I called ahead to my gaming store and asked them to hold the book for me, when I got there they said half the books they received were misprinted. Luckily, they still had a good one so I was able to pick mine up.

I ALWAYS flip through the book and COUNT each page BEFORE I purchase it. That takes care of ALOT of problems.

I figured, but couldn't resist a little teasing. ;)

My D&D books come and go with such regularity that I don't even care if they have covers anymore! I move every 3-6 months, and they're so expensive/heavy to ship that I wind up buying books, then giving them away a few months later because I don't like them enough to ship. It's a crazy life.

S&H as opposed to paying FULL PRICE for the book at the store ? Sounds like a GOOD DEAL to me.

I never look at page numbers anyways. If I need to find something in the book I go by intuition... "I think I recall seeing that chart near the beginning, midway up the left-hand page..."

Using tables of contents or appedices are the last resort.

And yes, I'm one of those idiots who will wander around lost for hours before asking for directions.
