11-05-04, 12:00 PM Does the Monster Manual 3 have any Eborron designed monsters in it?

Is it a worthy buy if I DM an Eberron Campaign? :)

11-05-04, 12:12 PM Well aside from having Changelings, Warforged, and Shifters in it (were Kalashtar in it I don't remember seeing them, anybody?). It also has a section at the end of many entries X in Eberron and X in Faerun, where X is the monster and it tells you where to find them in Eberron. It's full of cool monsters, I remember one being some sort of golem made from a lich's phylacrety (sp?) and used magic item's that Vol would have adventurers hunt down other liches to make them out of. The funny thing was I didn't think Vol was high enough level to make them, I have to go reread my ECS.

Seriously though, its an excellent read and perhaps my favourite of the extra monster books. The majority of monsters have a ___ in Eberron section, ranging from a few lines to many paragraphs (such as the new lizardfolk). A few Eberron specific monsters are found within its pages as well as core ones with a short adaptation. For example, you can find the warforged, changeling and shifter, as well as poison dusk and blackscale lizard folk, plus sea tigers (see Across Eberron) and a few more.

I also really like each monster starting on a new page :D

11-05-04, 03:59 PM Not only that, it is the most well organized MM I have yet seen. They list the monsters separately by alphabetical, type, CR, and even ECL for those who wanna play a monster. There is a wide spread of ECL, from 0 to 23(!), so there's options for any game.

Templates are in the main list as well as on their own. Makes it very easy to find what you're looking for. The majority of the creatures have an in Eberron blurb, a lot of them you can tell were created specifically for Eberron.

There are a couple of typos to look out for, but they're minor. Yes, Vol is too low of level to create a Grisgol (construct mummy thing). And for some reason a Shredstorm (A construct swarm) is listed under Fey. But other than that, excellent book and well worth getting.

Kalashtars aren't in it. Or at least, not under that name. I guess this is because the background of Kalashtar is specific to Eberron's planes and history, whereas the other three are reasonably adaptable to most other gameworlds. But yeah, I browsed through it, and it's got some really cool things in.
