Moons? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-10-04, 06:23 PM I know there are 12 moons surrounding Eberron. But besides that, I don´t have the slightest idea of what their names are. Can someone help me.

And also, are the moons tied in any way to the outer planes?

I am rather new at Eberron, so I need help.

12-10-04, 06:41 PM Details about the moons can be found in the ECS at the begining of the Life in the World chapter on page 130. From the ECS:
"The months corresond to the twelve moons of Eberron, and the prominent moon carries the name of the month in which its orbit brings it closest to the planet."
The moons have no official connection of the planes, though it appears the moons, dragonmarks and planes are all connected in some special way (notably the 12+1 theory). There used to be another moon, but it has vanished similar to the way the thirtienth mark has vanished and the 13th plane (Dal Quor) has been knocked from orbit.

12-12-04, 03:51 PM Now go and count the number of nations that took part in the Treaty of Thronehold, and think about what happened to Cyre ;)

There have been a number of the 12+1 relationships discovered, some of which may be coincidence, others seem pretty convincing. A search should reveal the others we have found.

I noticed the possibility between dragonmarks and planes from the beginning, but now that you mention the 13th moon, well, it all starts to sound pretty interesting, don`t you think?Yup, but I believe Keith pointed out that the 13th moon was lost long before the Mark of Death dissappeared. But still... perhaps losing the moon is what made the Mark go into decline until it dissappeared?

Could make for a fun twist to tie dragonmark abilities to the moons. Tie each mark to each moon, and when that moon is full, give 'em an extra use of their dragonmark ability, while they can't use it at all when that moon is new.
