ValaR 09-09-07, 06:57 AM	Need help. I want my player to be emplyed by Morgrave to study Talenta halflings. He is changeling and this is going to be his firts Eberron game. :D We are both more in to roleplaying than h&s so I need little advice for this first session. After that he is going to meet with other two players in Sharn and go with first official adventure "The Forgotten Forge". So he is from Talenta plains and I would love for him to do first sesion single and to study halflings for Morgrave in that session. Now I need interesting details and cool ideas about that session. Thanks for help and sorry for bad english.:)

Nived 09-09-07, 09:23 AM	My suggestion, think National Geographic/Big Game Hunter. Start the game with him in a halfling nomadic encampment that he's been living in for the past season, earning their trust learning their ways etc. Its been a long hard road but he's earned their respect and what not. Enough that he gets to take part in a great ceremonial hunt. Set him on a game trail, him and some halfling hunter stalk the high grass of the Talenta serengetti, stalking their prey. Possible encounter scenarios, Capturing live wild fastieths or clawfeet for domestication. Hunting an killing larger prey a carver perhaps for respect. Doing one of the above and having a larger more dangerous creature burst upon the scene. Afterwards, should the hunt be successful (and make no mistake it should be he's a PC after all), have there be a festival back at the halfling camp. Equal parts celebrating their hunt and as a going away party for the PC who must head back to civilization and publish his paper (and maybe do a few lectures at the university). So role play up the events of the celebration. If you want to throw in another combat encounter have the biggest strongest halfling warrior in the tribe challenge the PC to a friendly wrestling match. Give the halfling improved grapple to offset his small size and let them wrestle, to the knock out or holding someone in a pin for three rounds. If the PC wins feel free to give him some kind of prize, if he loses make sure its played up that he hasn't lost any respect or face in the eyes of the tribe he's still a hunter amongst them, just not the greatest warrior. After that, have him travel back to Sharn to Moregrave to report his findings, to change from Indy to Dr. Jones and lead into the events of The Forgotten Forge.

Big ceremonial hunt is very excotic thing to participate in, very nice. I can just imagine how interesting it would be to my player, coz whene I gave him Eberron campagin settings to read it he sad he is in love with Talenta plains. :) So now he will be happy. And the shock that he will have to go to ultra-urban Sharn after Talenta plains. Thansk man, thanks ! :) :) :)
