| Arcticflare09-07-05, 09:41 PM | I play a human from Cyre. He was studying in Morgrave on the Day of Mourning, being too young to fight. He now works and studies there as a (library) page. He just finished Force Missile Mage, and has one in Loremaster. Recently, he's been getting into scuffles with the Blood of Vol. Are there any feats I could take to reflect his sense of loss or his hatred of the Blood. Also, any Morgrave-related Roleplaying tips would be excellent. He's also got a beef with the Lord of Blades for taking advantage of the situation . . . . |

I don't know about feats, but if you've been growing in opposition to the Blood of Vol, you might want to consider drifting towards a religion and becoming a cleric to be able to better fight undead ... turning and all of the other feats that are powered by turn attempts give the best options for being an undead fighter. Just off the top of my head, for some roleplaying tips, you might want your PC to become somewhat "obsessed" with researching the BoV, trying to find their origins (eventually revealing the actual existance of Erandis d'Vol and seeking her out to destroy her). You'd basically journey anywhere there might be information about the BoV and get involved in as many missions as you possibly could where you'd get a chance to oppose them (and the OotEC). Personally, I'd focus on one goal or ther other. It's hard to be driven in two directions. Either focus on the BoV or the LoB ... don't try to split your time between the two. |
| pseudonym09-08-05, 09:15 AM | Also, any Morgrave-related Roleplaying tips would be excellent. Five Nations mentions regional education schooling for Morgrave. You get a +1 to Decipher Script and Knowledge (geography), but take a -1 on Diplomacy and Knowledge (religion). You also gain a minor underworld contact in Sharn. Morgrave has a reputation of being untrustworthy, a party school where you can get your Bachelors in Grave Robbing. The feat Relic Hunter from Races of Eberron is a good one to reflect a proper Morgrave education. As to roleplay, consider that you may have an interest in Xen'drik, a desire to explore coupled with a keen eye towards mercantile value. Whereas one scholar could look at some recovered pottery shards and get whistful about the lost giant empire and it's history, a Morgrave alum would think that he knows a guy who knows a guy who would give him a few Galifars for those shards; and knowing their history the guy from Morgrave would have a good idea of their value on the open market. |
| Arcticflare09-08-05, 06:05 PM | My DM's got Races of Eberron and Five Nations, so I'll look into the feat suggestions. I didn't consider Cleric, actually. Our last quest involved quite a few ghosts and other incorporeal undead, so I was still proud of my vast array of force spells (almost all of them are, he's an evoker). Yes, I'll pick up cleric, especially if I can get my hands on the Greater Holy Symbol from DotF. Along with that, I'll burn some ranks on Appraise, as per pseudonym's hint. |
