| itraylor08-04-07, 09:05 AM | I am working on a getting a group together and will likely only be able to get three players. I plan on playing an Artificer but I was wondering what two characters would go best with an artificer for a really well rounded group? I was thinking Artificer, Cleric and Ranger. Any suggestions? Thanks… |
| Rechan08-04-07, 10:13 AM | When one passes say, 5th level, I think a good group would be: Artificer, Bard, Druid. The Bard functions as the general Sneak, Face, and provides overall support to the party. The Druid functions as the primary tank, secondary healer/spellcaster, and the Artificer can function as primary spellcaster/ranged support, secondary healer (see Archificer/Blastificer). A Hordeficer, Rogue, and Combat-focused cleric would probably get along very well. |

| Kalanth08-04-07, 10:44 AM | The all warforged idea is a good one. Could also go with an all changeling group. Artificer, Rogue, and Cleric / Fighter (maybe even 3 levels of Paladin). Use the rogue as the face, use the artificers talents to enhance the disguises, and use the cleric as the main healer and tank of the group. It would certainly make for interesting role play if you had a Changeling who was part paladin to say the least. ;) |
| Edymnion08-04-07, 11:10 AM | Meleeficer, Archerficer, Buffificer. Maybe do a hybrid Hordeficer/Buffificer. |
| Nightshade08-04-07, 03:10 PM | Artificer Rogue / Fighter Druid |
| Ravenstein08-08-07, 02:23 PM | Make yer druid a shifter and go Moonspeaker (Races of Eberron). Heh hee. That'll be one heck of a meleer. Not to mention taking the Shifter-Druid substitution levels. Quite a rad combo. I have an upcoming game where a player is gonna do that. We plotted it out...its digusting. |
| itraylor08-09-07, 08:27 AM | I will check that out. The biggest thing for me is primarily the members of the party and then background. I want to make sure that everyone in the group has a great background story and a good reason why they are working together as a group. Don’t know how easily I can tie in a Shifter Druid with House Cannith operations but I will check it out. Thanks! |
| Ravenstein08-09-07, 08:49 AM | A bodyguard. Or possibly; it states in the Moonspeaker section that they are the shamans and crafters of the Shifter race. Any meta-magic, or item creation feat counts as a shifter feat. Thus, perhaps the Moonspeaker joined up with, or has associates with House Cannith to trade information about crafting. |
| itraylor08-09-07, 09:18 AM | That is something I can work with. I read the PC a few minutes ago. Maybe I can go with a Artificer, Druid, Ranger group. The Ranger is a Cannith foundling and he had befriended the Druid. I just need to do more thinking, thanks for the input! Ian. |

Thanks… Been working on something similar, I'd suggest if you're running an artificer then a warforged would be REAL handy say a fighter or barbarian class with perhaps a bard so you'll have eventual backup on healing, some rogue abilties. etc... Best of luck with that and let us know what happens though! |
| itraylor08-11-07, 07:59 PM | I think that I am settled on this party: Human Artificer of House Cannith: A typical artificer with a great background. Merrix is his patron and he is the face of the party. Human Druid of House Cannith: The druid is a foundling of the house. His ancestors was a Cannith tinkers on a caravan that was attacked; some of the members were taken as slaves by goblins but eventually managed to escape into the Kings Forrest with the aid of The Shadows of the Forrest. He was raised as a member of The Shadows of the Forest his entire life and was taken by The Knight Rangers of Breland for killing members of the King’s Hunt. He was set to be executed with other members of the group until they noticed his Dragonmark. House Cannith was contacted and he was saved from the gallows and brought into the house. He is currently working with a house artificer as a wilderness guide. Warforged Warblade: He is the latest of the experimental warforged Merrix is creating under Sharn. He is assigned to accompany a house artificer and druid on special missions set forth by Merrix himself. This group is just planning on running the published modules. I have a much more detailed background that I will post later but that’s the basic idea/story. I think it will mesh well. Any input would be much appreciated though. Right now I have to go because my son is having his birthday party. |
