| blue crane12-21-04, 01:42 PM | Hi there! With reference to the 'mutated creatures' in the Mournland, would the 'mutation rules' in d20 Future be appropriate - at least partially so? Thanking you in advance, Blue Crane |

Because, after all, you don't have to say something has a template, you can describe it as a whole new creature very easily. A Winged Insectile Kobold might not sound very threatening, but when you describe it to the players as a 3 foot tall giant insect with vein covered translucent wings, mashing mouthparts, carrying a barbed halfspear and buckler, they think its something brand new, and won't be able to metagame it. You know its just a templated kobold, but they don't know that. Make it a Winged Insectile Kobold Sorcerer that knows Lesser Acid Orb, and describe it as the orbs being spit out of it's mouth instead of out of it's hands, and you'll really freak them out. |
