I know a few of these have been said in the past but I was wondering just how many movies, books or TV shows could fit into the world of Eberron? I'll list a few and see what you all think and give me some of your own;

Babylon 5: Argonth 5 (The moving city fortress in Breland)

Harry Potter: Young Wizards going to school at the Arcane Congress

StarGate SG1: Quori/Kalashtar relations

Law & Order: Follows Sharn's cops through a trial

Night Court: Trials in Atur, the city of the night

Dog the Bounty Hunter: Shifter marchel for House Deneith

I could keep going, the last two are a little strech, but what do you think of the other? And what can you come up with?

Don't know if anyone remebers this TV show, but I liked it while it was on the air a year and sum back.

Special Unit 2, a secret law enforcement organization meant to hunt down real monsters hiding in society. In Eberron, the "special unit" are used to go after creatures like: Roach Thrall, Radiant Idols, and other non standard humanoids.

StarGate SG1: Quori/Kalashtar relations

Actually, in Five Nations, when i read about that strange gate thinger in the Arcane Congress that can send you to any plane, and is controlled by a person who knows the correct method for "dialing" the coordinates into it, yeah there is your Stargate. It even allows for return trips. I could just see a bunch of PCs geared up walking down into the Gate Room getting ready to go to some new coordinate that has been discovered.

The one I've mentioned and seen others mention is Firefly:

Captain Reynolds and Zoe are Cyre natives (or any other country they feel lost the war) who have bought an airship and use it to smuggle across Eberron.

Jayne is a fighter with pretty much the same story he had in the series.

Inara could be any number of things - expert comes to mind.

Shepherd Book is a cleric/fighter of the Silver Flame.

Kaylee is an artificer.

Wash is a dragonmarked half-elf formerly of house Lyrander.

Simon (cleric or healer or expert) and Rain (Psion or Psychic Warrior) are escapees from Sarlona who are on the run from the Dreaming Dark.

Pretender: Changling Rogue/Chameleon/Cabinet Trickster :D Searching for his past. (Ok I made this up but it's simple to do.)

Brotherhood of the Wolf: A Secret Society doing good on their terms.

Army of Darkness: Kannath's Undead army

Miami Vice: Set in Sharn for its hot tropical weather. Under cover special law enforcement agents for Breland set out to infiltrate and upset the illegal drug flow into Khorvaire from Sarlona and Xen'drik. Despite making slight gains the PC's are always struggling to stay even with, or slightly one step ahead of the organized crime syndicates in Sharn.

24: Fast paced action thriller where PC's are up against a clock (literally) to thwart the schemes of madmen and maniacs bent on terror and destruction.

Batman Begins: A great story and start of a a campaign that goes beyond the movie, and very easily adaptable to Eberron.

Teen TiansCartoon Network Anime show: Very well written stories are easy to make the fit to Eberron, and its group of characters and dynamic is almost custom fit for PC classes.

The A Team: An ex-military special forces unit wanted for military war crimes it did not commit, now on the run and hired as mercenaries to help those who can not help themselves.

Got a bunch more but I'll stop for now. :)

Foundation of Exceptional Individuals Folk heros, famous explorers and unique ECL creatures band together to deal with madmen and the things that lurk behind the veil to threaten Eberron's existence.

The Undead Zone: A solo or duo game of a psion and his sidekick trying to solve crimes with his powers discovered after waking from an airship-crash coma.

Friar A quirky Master Inquisitor and his Expert deal with unique cases plaging a city somewhere not Sharn while searching for his wife's killer.

Angry Max Rebels with land carts and the Lord of Blades battle in the Mournlands.

d'Phiarlan, James d'Phiarlan: A dragonmarked Elf and Royal Eye of Aundair, James d'Phiarlan goes on grand missions across Khorvaire to protect Queen and Country.

Best one yet!

The Breland Identity: The PC's wake up without any memories at all and after a series of events that eventually lead to the truth, they find out they were assassians for the Dark Lanterns of the Citadel.

The Thirteen Warriors: The PC's join with a band of Valenar warriors of a journey set to them from one of the Warband's leaders. After a trip into Q'barra, they find themselves defending a single, lone, human outpost from half-dragons. After a few frightful battles, they learn that the half-dragons are merely Lizardfolk in disguise!

Three (or number of PC's) Kings: The PC's are part of a company of Breland's army, just after the last war ended. They learn of a safe of gold in Valenar from when it split from Cyre. Travelling there, they find a group of refugees wanting to cross back over to Breland, and moral problems ensue.

Four Siblings The orphan PC's come back to the darkside of Sharn to find their mother has been murdered. Revenge follows.

I cannot take credit for this one, but I don't remember who to give it to. :(

"Who's the construct private-eye that's a war machine for all the chicks?"
"Haft!"
"They say that cat Haft is a bad mutha-"
"Shut yo mouth!"
Haft, a Warforged Urban Ranger/Master Inquisitive solves problems in the lower levels of Sharn, dealing out punishment to scumbags, lowlifes, and ne'erdowells for those that can't do it themselves. The quintessential bad-ass, Haft gets done what the law can't.

This one's mine:

"When there's something strange... In the neighbourhood... Who ya gonna call?"
"Gatekeepers!"
A party of four (A charismatic human sorceror, ingenious elf artificer, stalwart dwarf transmuter, and a shifter diviner that is conspicuously absent from every promotional poster) rid the city of Sharn of supernatural foes using the latest in magical weaponry. Wraith haunting your forge? Beholder disintegrating your workers? Ethereal Filcher snatching your goods? A Gate to Khyber opened up in your basement? Who you gonna call? Gatekeepers!

I can't believe no one has mentioned:

Sin City where the PCs are (quite literally) knights in blood caked armor fighting corrupt law enforcement, villainous political figures, and organized crime in the name of love and revenge in the twisted City of Towers.

Walk down the right back alley in Sharn and you can find anything… anything…

Raven reminds me of a kalashtar even when she is not doing kinetic things. She just looks, kalashtarish(is not a word).

Weekend at Bernize's
Two young elves aligned with House Thuranni receive an offer from an Aerenal Elf, Bernize d'Phiarlan, to visit his mansion in Trolanport with him...they accept, only to find that when they arrive there, Bernize has travelled too far from the Irian manifest zone and dies instantly. Fearing that they will be suspected as Thuranni assassins, they are forced to engineer a number of scenarios wherein Bernize is puppeted in most unseemly fashion.

Rekkenmark Academy: Citizens On Patrol
Decimated by casualties since the Last War, the academy has been forced to accept a lesser class of student than usually, in order to maintain numbers. These unorthodox students are not natural fits for the academy, and hilarity ensues.

Some oldies but goodies;
I love those old WW II war movies in the list. They make for good storied campaigns which could be set during the last days of the war or in and around areas where tensions are still high and the occassional skirmish still breaks out. I've actually used these as a flashback campaign for PC's and how they met and know each other after the war. Flashback campaign meetings have been very well accepted by my game group and a great way to introduce leveled up or experienced Player characters into a campaign. Plus they add a little different flavor to the normal "o.k., you all meet at a tavern" PC introduction syndrome.

The Dirty Dozen
Guns of Navarrone
Kellys Heroes

Some westerns are great for stories too.
Magnificent Seven
Young Guns
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

etc...etc.. You get the idea :)
