hello all, I am going to be hosting an IRL ongoing eberron campaign, that uses the core books and the XPH, and I will be using the Lord of blades and the Inspired heavily, I currently have some thing written down, here are a few of my ideas

The inspired are building an eldritch machine that will cause a massive Anti magic field to blanket the earth, while empowering their psionics, then, with most resistence silenced, they will use another machine to shift the planes, and putting Dal quor in a permament Corteminous place next to Eberron, they are still testing magic silencer, and have sent multiple weak copies of it around Khovaire, the first ones can only cause magic to go erratic and almost uncontrollable, and later editions with completly silence it, while boosting Psionics.

The lord of blades has been bribed into a position of power by the Devourer, he has sent warforged to train to become psionics, But the inspired are instead using these warforged as a new prototype for empty vessels, the LoB Knows the truth about the quori, and so believes that they will not try to enslave him, that part is true, the will instead silence him, along with the last remains of resistance after Dal quor becomes coterminous once again.

What do you all think? Currently thats what I have, and the players start at 5th level, I currently have a shifter barbarian, and others are sure to follow, but any possible ideas?

My question is, what role are the player characters going to play? Are they going to work against both factions, or alongside one of them?

Against them, they will find out about the machines by an accident, and it will escalate from there, as they try to stop the inspired,

An idea on how this will function. It requires an effect that ignores psionics/magic transparency which is not that big of a deal. That means that effect will harness some difference between psionics and magic and then use that difference to maximum effect. Will your anti-magic device affect both arcane and divine magic? Mr. Baker has previously said that Psionic Powers harness energy from Dal Quor while arcane and divine magics harness ambient energies from Eberron and Siberys. To make Psionic Powers stronger would require that Dal Quor get "closer" to Eberron, while the Ring of Siberys and Eberron's influence are cut off. I think this fits in nicely with your plotline you outline.

How about a twist on this idea: Whatever effect was used to make Dal Quor permanently remote is irrevocable - it can't be moved closer. So as an alternative, the Inspireds' machines are designed to move Eberron closer to Dal Quor, leaving behind the Ring of Syberis, the moons and most of the planes. The players' first notice of this phase of the plan is when astronomers and astrologers notice that the moons, the planes and the Ring are moving erratically - planes' coterminous and remote phases are coming early or late as Eberron begins slightly shifting position. If the situation is allowed to escalate, manifest zones start to shift or fail, putting places like Sharn at great risk.

That raises an interesting point. Suppose that the Prime Material Plane (Of which Eberron is a part) is of infinite size. Do other planes (other infinitely sized planes) have areas of influence in the Prime Material Plane at all times? I mean, we have manifest zones on Eberron. Do we have rolling coterminous zones elsewhere? Is Dal Quor then coterminous with some place in the Prime Material Plane? It has been said by Hellcow that the Daelkyr have destroyed other worlds, is this one possibility? Will I stop asking rhetorical questions?

:D :D :D

Very good idea, considering that the inspired are beta testing it at the time, how would the effects be noticed? Slightly, or should it already start to cause problems?

And i am thinking of possibly working in the Daelkyr as well, but I am not sure how, they would be their own faction, so it would be a faction war between the PCs, the Daelkyr, and the inspired/LoB, although I don't want to overwhelm the Pcs, most of them are going to be new to the setting, and I will help them make a backstory about their characters, and tell them a bit about the setting itself, then get into the campaign, hpoing I told them enough about it,
