Hi all. I run a Sharn based campaign and my players have been talking about buying a skycoach for their personal use (when they get enough money to do so). I however can't seem to find any information about them beyond the fact that they exist. I'm looking for how much they cost, how fast they are, and things like that.

If anyone can help me I would be very thankful. :D

Sooooo what? Do you have to say domething dumb like that aquarium thing to get an answer around here or something?

If so, can this count? :P

The prices for skycoaches have not been published yet. I would say, though, that a carpet of flying is the closest equivalent in magic items. Granted, a carpet of flying doesn't have the carrying capacity that a skycoach has, but since a skycoach doesn't work outside of the Manifest Zone of Sharn, I think the pros and cons balance themselves out, don't you?

Incidentally, the answer provided above is listed in the Ask Keith Baker Thread.

Thanks DoveArrow. Sorry about the crabby tone. I have a bellyache and I tent to spread the bellyaching wherever I can.

Actually, I'd put the price of one quite a bit higher for one simple reason. Unless the commission a new one built, it means they have to get someone else to give theirs up. And since those things get made so slowly, any given skycoach is likely to be the equivolent of a family heirloom.

"My father piloted this skycoach. Before that, my grandfather, and my grandfather's father before that. I hope to hand it down to my son when he comes of age. How much could you possibly pay me to break with that much family history?"

Good point Edymnion.

They are only second level right now so its a long way off for them. I suppose I could just do a little actual DMing and make up a table for myself basing them on other flying magical items and let the players decide from there if they want to persue it (along with a few, high difficult, related adventures).

There's a related item in Sharn: City of Towers with the soarsled, that might be a good place to start.

"Ah, you made a few bets you shouldn't have made with someone from the Boromar Clan eh? And then you lost, I understand. Listen pal, I'm on your side here, I might be able to works things out, but I don't work for free, right? So, that skycoach of yours, wont do you much good if you're dead eh? I think we can come to an arrangement..."

You just need to find some sod down on his luck ;)

That, or murder someone and steal theirs. And oh, how I want to play in an evil campaign *curses the lack of nearby eberron groups*

Well I wouldn'y put it past my group to do something criminal to get one, thankfully for me they have their hearts set on a 'Pimped" skycoach with a full time driver. ;)
