| Chyron09-02-04, 03:46 AM | The search engine is down so I apologize if this has been asked before. There is a map that the party acquires at the end of The Forgotten Forge. It is in the vault and says to be a map of The Mournlands with various runes on it. The description further states that this map will be featured in the follow-up Shadows of the Last War. Now I got the SotLW module but I could not find any reference to the said map. Was this omitted erroneously or left out on purpose? |
| Redbeard_Gamer09-02-04, 09:13 AM | This is a good question as I'm reading through SotLW now. I suppose that it could match the map in Rose Quarry, but without the statues as markers It would be quite useless. After deciphering the map in Rose Quarry, however, the map from the Forge could serve as a continuing point of reference. |

| Big Jake09-26-04, 08:13 AM | I'm curious about the map as well. I've read through SotLW but I haven't seen anything about the map from the Forgotten Forge. Has anyone seen the elusive reference, or was it simply omitted? Anyone that has run the two adventures already, what did you do to incorporate the map? I figure at the least it could be used to figure out the map room. At the best, it could lead the party directly where they need to be. |

| Big Jake10-09-04, 10:50 AM | We finished the Rose Quarry section of the adventure, and this is how I used the maps in the game. The map from The Forgotten Forge was a duplicate of the map in the Cannith Refinery at the Rose Quarry, but without some necessary geographic features to indicate the locations of the hidden research facilities. However, this map shows the locations of the red, white, and black House Cannith seals that are mentioned on the statues in the map room. Then, the map room has specific geographic features that indicate the locations of the research facilities, but the floor map lacked the House Cannith seals (contrary to the text in the adventure) that are needed as starting points for the clues on the statues. So, the players had to find the clues on the statues, compare the two maps to see where the white House Cannith seal is, then walk the correct number of spaces in the direction indicated on the statue. My players were really excited at figuring it out, and it also shows why Garrow couldn't find the hidden facility at all. They also marked out the locations for the other five clues on a map they had. That map can now be very precious. |
