| Deneith07-03-05, 08:08 PM | I have seen a ton out there but none that quite capture the feel of the Eberron naming practices. Has anyone compiled a resource or found something fitting that I could possibly use? Thanks in advance. -Deneith |
| Bluebrush07-03-05, 08:18 PM | Races of Eberron has some suggestions. |
| Missekat07-08-05, 03:36 AM | Yeah, but u'll use them up quickly, and if ur not that good at coming up with names, ur back where u started. |
| Sereno07-08-05, 09:25 AM | Something I plan to do as I get my campaign rolling is to use Keith's Index to Sharn (available somewhere on his site http://www.bossythecow.com) and pull out all of the names I can find and store them in lists. There are a lot of names in the Sharn source book and it's not like every NPC needs to have a unique first name. After all, how many guys named John do you know? How many Smiths are there in the US alone? By mixing up first names and last names, you have a huge resource for NPC names.... |
| Agentrock07-08-05, 01:31 PM | Has anyone compiled a resource or found something fitting that I could possibly use? You might try this website -> http://www.kirith.com/name/ It will produce a list of 10 names randomly from a selection list of name types (different races, gender, and social levels). I found it while searching for the same thing...I generated a bunch of names from the various selections and cut/pasted then into a document so I could use the names during the gaming sessions. |
| TheRedRobedWizard07-08-05, 04:35 PM | Also, there is the "Names..." thread buried somewhere hereabouts on the Eberron boards. http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=389463 Lots of names in there. -TRRW |
