Need a lightning rail encounter [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-02-06, 09:45 AM My group is running through Shadows of the Last War and have decided to take the overland route from Sharn to Rhukaan Draal. They want the extra time to try and level up before going into the Mournland.

Anyway, I thought it would be cool to have an encounter on the lightning rail portion of the trip that included fighting outside on top of the rail cars. Any ideas for an encounter? I need this today.

03-02-06, 10:55 AM A rare Phantom Hound (blink dog) is being transported to a menagery up north. It escaped from it's cage and the owner is offering a reward for it's capture.

(I'm getting tired of the train robbery plot)

03-02-06, 03:20 PM Then again you can always go with the classic lightning rail battle that leads to the roof, have people bull-rushing others off the train etc.

A warforged barbarian, a light fighter of some kind and a drunken brawler get onto the train... the brawler challenged a PC to a drinking contest, making himself stronger and dropping a PC simultaneously.

No Ticket - eberron rpga adventure - is set on a lightning rail.

The Lord of Blades knows the PCs are coming into the Mournland, and he's got something there he doesn't want them finding/screwing up. So, he sends a trio of powerful Warforged Wizard/Sorcerers to stop the lightning rail cars with a few well placed fireballs around the front of the engine.

PCs have to get out and fight them off.
