| BullyBoy01-12-05, 04:05 AM | I have a character playing a Warforged Fighter. She wants to write up its background and has asked for advice in creating something interesting, but I can't really think of anything. My only thoughts are possibly having the character as an illegal experimental Warforged created by someone after The Last War, but even with that I've hit a brick wall. Can anybody give me some ideas for an interesting background? Something with some possible plot hooks in it for the DM (me) would be nice too. :D |

My only thoughts are possibly having the character as an illegal experimental Warforged created by someone after The Last War, but even with that I've hit a brick wall. Can anybody give me some ideas for an interesting background? Something with some possible plot hooks in it for the DM (me) would be nice too. :D Idea 1: She escaped from an Karrnath work camp where she was treated like a property. She is not welcome in Karrnath and probably doesn't like the country very much (enter: The Emeral Claw, etc.) Idea 2: She is an ex-follower of the Lord of the Blades. After spending months with him she found his ideas misguided, his methods - drastic and his philosophy - flawed. The agents of the LOB-ster are after her because she knows too much about their organisation and plans. Idea 3 (yours): She is one of the experiments of Merrix d'Cannith. Probably she knows about his creation forge, but doesn't want to tell the fact to the world, because she is not opposed of the creation of new members of her kind. Maybe Merrix is nervous because she knows facts with which she can blackmail him. Idea 4: She is not one of the regular Cannith-made Warforged. She was found inert in the depths of a temple in Xen'drik and first was thought to be a casualty from another recent expedition. However, further investigation revealed that she is not with a Cannith build and probably she is much, much older than any Warforged in Khorvaire. Maybe in the campaign she will slowly start to remember bits and pieces from her previos life a long time ago on Xendrik. Idea 5: She is sharing her body with the soul of another Warforged (via Circle of Preservation, p. 270 of the ECS). The two souls have very different personalities and a strange relationship between them. They could exchange the control of the body every day. In any case, they communicate with each other all the time. Probably they are looking for a way to transform one of the souls to a new body. Hope you like at least one of these ideas! Good luck! |
| Ricohard_Draconis01-12-05, 04:44 AM | idea 6: shes an escaped Cog gladiator who was illegaly enslaved after the last war to fight for someone elses fun and profit |
| Splendide01-12-05, 07:09 AM | After the war, it decided to become a farmer like a lot of other soldiers did. Unfortunately, it sucked at it, and has been forced to return to a life of fighting, which it doesn't really enjoy. It would love to run an orchard, really. |
| Endless_Helix01-12-05, 08:02 AM | How about a warforged fighter who was looking for something to do, and got involved with The Aurum to provide some sort of path. Now she tries to further the shadow cabinet's goals through her dedication. |
