Hello, starting in November, I will be starting a monthlong campaign to rise interest in eberron, and would like some ideas on interesting characters, something that shows off the new ideas and innovations, I am hoping to get atleast one interesting idea for each class in the basic book, Expanded psionics, and the Artificer, so any interesting Kalashtar psions, Changeling rogues, sorcerers with dragonmarks, any interesting ideas would help very much.

Will the party be based out of Sharn or elsewhere? Is it a predominantly land based or sea based campaign? Above ground or underground. Are mounts likely to be useful? Will nature-lovign types be far more useful than city slickers, or vice versa?

What sort of campaign will it be? A good heroic adventure to save innocents, mercenaries-for-hire, treasure hunting, or destroy the evil cult?

Is there anything specifically not allowed?

It will probably start at sharn, then I hope to get them in the mournlands, via Lightning rail, I will be land based, with possible showings of the Airships, Mounts will probably not be used, but If someone has a mount, I will not render it useless,Druids/Forest rangers (I will probably make an Urban ranger via Urban tracking.) Will be usefull as well, and im also thinking about making a Sect druid. and will follow on the exploration themes, and treasure hunting, only PHB/XPH/EBH are allowed.

Well Shas'O you Tau among humans I have some intersting Ideas. To start off I love how this campain setting has brought the psykers together. Using your XPH try some exotic thrikeen striaght out of Xendrik. Maybe a ranger or psychic warrior. Now you have a mind even more alien than a worforged in the party IMO. Another interesting choice would be a Gith race character visiting eberron for whatever reason. A githzeria would probably be better as they can't plainshift at first level. Of course they make good monks but anything psionic will do.

Ok with that out of my system I got one more idea you can toss out the window as you please. The poison dusk lizard folk of Q'Barra which I just love. They are the craftiest reptile this side of the material plane with some nice weapon proficiences. OK their stats are in the MMIII but everything else about them is in the ebberon book. They seem ideal for rougesmanship but if halflings are barbarians then the sky is the limit.

You said you wanted interesting, and I believe I deliverd.

Good to see fellow 40k players...

How about an exile from Thrane, Perhaps he/she went out of there way to protect a lycanthrope with child, perhaps just a werechild itself. Make'em a fighter with all the paladin skills and call him a fallen paladin...

Perhaps a wandering Half-Orc Ranger looking for his mother, he left his tribe after his fathers death protecting the Eldeen Reaches from the horrors of the Demon Wastes...

While they don't cover all of your bases (no psion or artificer), you can find a group of 1st-level Eberron characters I created here. (http://www.bossythecow.com/eberronparty.htm)

I'm glad to hear you like the PDs! I originally wrote them up for the ECS, but due to space constraints they were scaled backto the mini-stats -- I was very happy when they made it into the MMIII. I was thinking that a Poison Dusk would make a fun PC, myself.

Hrm, I'm looking for interesting, but not Terribly exotic, so I don't think an incredibly Exotic Race like a Kreen would do well for a newcomer, these are the ideas im looking for

A good way to show *each* of the new races off, IE:A warforged berserker named 'clash', and how he faced a dozen soldiers of Thrane, and lived.
Dragonmarks and the respective houses, possibly a shady mobsterlike encounter with Cannith
The greyness of the alignments, I am thinking of pairing them up with a LG Silver flame paladin that is the utmost kindest and holiest of all, but goes into a whirling frenzy of hate when she encounters a Lycanthrope, even if it just saved other Flamers.

Maybe im just trying to make it to flashy, oh well.

Oh, and that is much, Much appreciated Hellcow, all I need to do is up them to 3rd level, thanks.

Hmm. I actually have a 2nd-level version of the party that includes a kalashtar psion and an artificer (replacing the sorcerer and rogue)... perhaps I should post those as well.

Oh that just reminded me of a cool shifter I had before liquidating her in favor of making her an NPC. I try to save my characters that way. This lycanthropic symbiont Yote was very new to the shifter blood lines. In fact her mother was pure human marked by house cannith, while her father was a werewolverine from Droam. They met in the nation of monsters, and concieved without the knowledge of the werewolverines virus being informed to the Yote's mother. This however only delaid the inevitable when the wolf pack of Droam tracked down there rouge brother, and killed him. They only new he was mingling dangerously close to unaflicted humans so Ms. Cannith recieved no hasle escaping to Q'Barra. In this frontier nation Yote's mother who never contracted the curse encouraged her mixed blood daughter to persue adventure so at least the prodigy of the forbiden love would never be caught or caught unprepared. Although not aplicable for any dragon mark Yote still bears this ancestry through her name Yote Cannith Handtasha. I don't meen to be a drama queen er king. I hope this simply inspires.

Oh, I would love that, and I'm certain that others would to, if you wouldn't mind doing that, in your spare time of course,

One of my players came up with this idea, but I thought it cool:

A Shifter Paladin/Rogue with the "knight training feat." Changes his appearance to blend into a "troubled area" and find out what the REAL problem is (gather info, bluff, diplomacy, etc), then ducks out, puts on his shiny armor, and begins smiting the bad guys. He never appears as a specific person, but does look like a "local" or someone you can trust (Hello Charisma!), and then does all he can to save the innocent and punish the guilty.

Yes, that's right...he's Batman. :)

I Believe batmans race would be changling then. Unless he is a werebat.

Changling...dang it. Not Shifter. Look, I never said I was a good GM.

Their names are too similar not to fumble over, and it's part of their charm. This is the only media in which we may save ourselves thanks to the ability to proof read. Proof speach is a little to slow for the main stream conversation.

One of my favorite ideas from early on was an elven artificer, who had fallen in love with the soul of a warforged fighter she reactivated after he was inert for half the war.

I had started a thread where people posted alot of charecter ideas back when the boards just started, try lookibng for the Charecter Concept thread.

Also Jhonny has done some great charecters you might could use, their up on his site, but ask permission first.
