Need help with a name... [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-17-06, 05:16 AM In our current campaign the P.Cs are working for karrnath for an organisation a bit like 'the kings dark lanterns' or 'the royal eyes of aundair' but more aimed towards protecting karrnath and the lasting peace in khorvaire than just the royal family (hence the PCs are blisfully unaware of Kaius' "state").

My problem is I can't think of a name, the organisation isn't very new, it was formed by Kaius III/I shortly after he came to the throne (again). The agency is currently working as the PCs patron although I don't know for how long it will last.

Really I just need a name for the organisation, although any plot hooks would also be appreciated.

05-17-06, 06:57 AM I believe the equivalent to the Royal Eyes and Dark Lanterns in Karrnath is called the Dark Cabinet of Karrnath.

Rally? where does it mention this, I only have the ECS and i couldn't find anything in there. Looks like the PCs are working for the Dark cabinet then.

It just says "Karrnath's covert ministry" in the affiliation for kasha. Where does it give the name? That adventure's going to be interesting if I run it, I may have a little work to do on it.

But I'm sure that I have also seen the "Dark Cabinet" somewhere, maybe in that very adventure.... I'm not sure. Still, the name has a nice ring to it.

I also recall reading in one book that "Black Cabinets" was expression used for various European cyrptographical services in 18th century. But don't hold my word on it. This was just a passing remark in the book about decoding of Enigma, but it definitely caught my imagination.

A It's a Karrn intelligence agency, like the Royal Eyes or Dark Lanterns. At this point in time, there is no additional info about it in print.
