| silversai05-09-06, 10:26 PM | Just last week in my hometown that had an airshow that displayed several planes from the old times and modern flying around displaying tricks etc. Since airships are huge part of the travel scene in Eberron i was thinking how can i shape an "adventure setting" around the airshow concept. Please feel free to add your input. Another idea i was pondering to add to my world was an "amusement park". What kind of ideas would you include in the park but Eberron style. SilverSai |

However, I can see it as a big Lyrandar PR event. They could bring together a dozen or so different models to sell their services to prospective customers. Of course, you'd need additional entertainment which could include House Phiarlan. Within the show there could be lots of sub-plots going on. The obvious one is the attempted theft of an airship. "Elemental rights" activists trying to "free" the bound elementals. Attempted assassinations of high-ranking guests. Escaped "entertainment" creatures; such as "trained" dinosaurs going on a rampage. An Eberron amusement park could be pretty cool; rides would be fairly simple but entertainment could be further enhanced by magic. Of course, House Phiarlan would be involved. I'd expect more DisneyWorld-type rides (like Pirates of the Carribean or the Haunted Mansion) over rollercoasters and other high-speed rides that require technology that Eberron doesn't have, yet. I could easily see a "Wonders of Xen'drik" dark-ride at PhiarlanWorld :) ... one which gets corrupted by a Cult of the Dragon below so that the animated creatures come to life and really attack the riders! |

Just because the race is the main spectical doesn't mean you can't have other aerial themed events like acrobatics taking place. It's also an easy idea to transplant to other locales. Hooks that would go well with this scenery are assasinations, sabotage, drunken catastrophe, or gimicry. Perhaps the brother of the man they put in prison five sessions back is a sky-writer. He might decide to air a characters dirty laundry during the race as payback. What will the heroes do when they are the butt of the city? Will their reputations ever recover? |

Something like a roller coaster or a tilt-a-whirl might be a little too advanced for Eberron. You might have magical rides such as scenic air carriage tours, a lake with elemental-driven boats, a funhouse or tunnel of love with illusions, or a high platform where they cast featherfall on you and you jump over the edge. You could also add county fair and carnival elements to it like menageries of unusual beasts, dinosaur rides, exhibition halls, performers and entertainers who employ magic and illusions, circus shows, side show attractions, and win-a-prize stalls. It would also include conventional things like bands, bards, theater, flower gardens, fireworks, and novelty food and confections. |
