Hey guys

Time for another of my adventure ideas. This one is the result from bits and peices I picked up on these boards, so thanks for the inspiration!

Ok The basic structure for the adventure is this:

Something causes the players to be thrown back in time possebly a living spell, they black out and awake in Cyre during the last war, only weeks before the Mourning. First they have to figur out where they are, When they realize they are in Cyre which is still there they'll want to figure out what the exact date is.
Once they are orientated there will be two mayor events, first the mourning closing in, they can either try to flee from it and get stuck in the past or live through it and get hurled forward again at the moment of the mourning.
The idea is that they will uncover part of the cause, they will see all the parts of the puzzle moving to that dreaded deadline but in the end they will fail to stop it. (yes I know it's been done before)
The second storyline is that they will discover the location of a hidden treasure, this treasure they can, later when they are back in their own time locate and claim.

Ok so far the structure of the idea. Feel free to fill in the details yourself and post your version here ! Here is my set up :

- the treasure : a radically modified new airship prototype that was almost finished by the time of the mourning (thanks to Necromancer King for the idea). The party finds out about this ship and the hope it brings while they are in the Cyre of the past, they locate the secret base where they are manufacturing it. Later on, back in their time they can find the base again and claim the ship. The dragon shard powering it is damaged and the elemental has fled or died in the mourning. They will have to find a new shard and an elemental which ties into another adventure.

- the location of the time jump : the mournland, the party moves trough Metrol to find some artifact, possibly comissioned by Oargev ir'Wynarn. Anyway they find a huge ruined device of unknown design, when they investigate it a living spell attacs and they black out. They awake hours later, during the night in the same room but the device looks brand new. They'll have to hide or be captured once morning comes and artificers working on the device start their daily routine.

- the cause : Moments after the players wake up a man sneaks into the chamber, they observe him and he in turn seems to be studiing the device. When he triggers an alarm lights flash on and the sound of boots running towards the chamber his heard. The man takes off and gaurds flood the room. Maybe the party is arrested at this time, maybe not... In any event they have a puzzle to solve. Later on they will see the burglar again, they will track him and in time discover he is not a man at all but a dragon. The device is near completion but the time of the mourning is also closing in possibly connecting the two. About an hour before the mourning the dragon is headed for the chamber again and the party will fear the worst (Either he sabotages the machine and causes the mourning or he is too late to sabotage it and the machine causes the mourning, maybe neither is connected to the mourning, this should not be revealed) but time will run out and the mourning will happen hurling the party back to arrive moments before they walked into the chamber with the ruined device in their own time.
They'll see themselves touch the device an disappear.... the loop continues....

After this shocking event they can persue finding the airship wich is the main target of this adventure...

so any more ideas, either new takes on my story or totally different versions based on the same structure ?

I've been running an ongoing campaign where the PC's were sent back in time due to a run-in with a BBEG with an Eldritch Device.

It was really fun, if not a bit hard to introduce new characters...we got to explore a lot of different time eras, and it was great for character development. Especially for the Shifter and Cleric of the Silver Flame when the party was deposited in the middle of the Lycanthropic Purge.

I might post a lot of it up
