I recently started my first, and last, Eberron campaign. I'll be moving to Japan in January and for the first time in two years, started up a campaign to play with old friends with whom I've been gaming for the past decade and then some. So it's a bittersweet feeling having everyone around the gaming table again.

The Group

Male human sorcerer, House Orien with Least Mark of Passage & Favored In House;
Male human artificer, unmarked member of House Orien;
Male human rogue, House Tharashk with Least Mark of Finding;
Male human fighter of Cyre, dual-wielding dagger-whip psycho;
Male-personality warforged fighter of Cyre, adamantine body;
Male human cleric of Dol Dorn of Cyre

I noticed a huge list of people who do art in the FAQ, so I'm looking for someone who's willing to do a group character portrait. Willin' to pay, if it's necessary. Also looking for ideas for miniatures for the characters. Found a Reaper mini that was perfect for the Cleric. Forced him to be bald, though.

I'm also looking for general campaign advice. I started everyone out at 2nd level and started the campaign in medias res by having them fight the fire elementals & things at the end of the 2nd level adventure, before giving them free reign on the world. The Cyric people ended up travelling to New Cyre and managed to meet Prince Oargev for a few moments. And then they've met the Dark Lantern captain at the start of the 3rd level adventure... so, where to go from here is up in the air. I probably won't follow the adventure word-for-word.

Possible hooks are trips to the Mournland on Prince Oargev's behalf. If that happens, I want to do a travel back-in-time adventure to fight in a pitched battle of the Last War. Another definite development will be a (or several) party trip down to Xen'drik for adventuring fame and fortune, before their accumulated enemies (so far the Lord of Blades & Blood of Vol) force their hand. I also want to use the Draconic Prophecy and I'm waiting, along with everyone else, for that to be released.

Comments? Suggestions?

how often and how long do you play each week? it seems you would like to accomplish quite a bit in such a short time. I'll get back to you as I come up with ideas.

Okay, I don't really have anything to contribute, but I would like to put in two comments.

1) You lucky bastard. How about this, you stay home with your group, and let ME go to Japan in your place? Okay, okay, just hide me in your luggage...

2) You should have a fairly easy time of getting a D&D game going in Japan (assuming of course you speak Japanese and could run said game), as the Japanese have the same fascination with western culture that western culture has with theirs. There's a reason you see more knights and elves in japanese video games than you see ninjas and kitsunes.

But no, seriously, you have a suitcase big enough to put me in, right?
