| Hrothgar the Dwarf06-23-04, 10:14 PM | well I've been playing for about four years and we've almost always had the same DM. He enjoys it but I really wanted to try my hand at it and this brand new campaign gave me the chance. I want everything to be new and exciting, but I hate it when dm's act like your PC had his head up his ass his whole life, until the adventure starts. I like background and the PC's to know something about the world. So, in designing the new campaign, I noticed the "Ten thing you need to know" on page 8. Do most people plan on using this? An edited version of this? how many people use handouts? is this generally a good idea? We're all old friends but I don't want to end up being the 'nerDM' that gives people homework or something. thanks for the advice, hrothgar |

For your first campaign try to run something they would enjoy and stay away from trying to swing for the fences (creating an grand storyline) cause its likely to blow up in your face. I have had too many campaign fall to pieces in my hands before i knew it. I'm planning on running a 'get to know eberron campaign' pretty soon and introduce the elements of the setting. Just remember to have fun. |
