I'm not sure the wording says exactly what I'm getting at, but basically, it would allow you to spend an unlimited number of action points, but only once per feat/feature/roll in a given round. Unlimited Action Prerequisite: Heroic Spirit Benefit: You may use action points more than once per round. You may only use action points to gain an extra use of each class ability, or to activate each feat or class ability requiring an expenditure of action points, once per round. You may only use one action point to modify each d20 roll you make in a round. Normal: You may only use action points once each round. Example: I have a full attack sequence of +15/+10/+5, the feat Action Surge, and the ability to Smite Evil 1/day only. I could spend 2 action points for an extra move action (Action Surge) to reach my opponent, then full attack, spending an action point to improve each of my attack rolls. I could Smite Evil with my first attack, then (being out of Smite Evil uses for the day) spend an action point to Smite Evil again on my second attack. Assuming I had 5 action points left to spend, of course. I could NOT spend 4 action points for 2 extra move actions (from Action Surge); I could NOT spend an additional action point for a 3rd Smite Evil attempt; and I could NOT spend more than one action point to improve any given attack roll in my full attack sequence. Thoughts, criticisms, improvements? Thanks, Galen |

You'll be spending them twice as fast! I'd have someone playtest it, and see if it gets out of hand. Maybe adding some more prereqs to keep it out of the hands of lower level characters. |

"Unlimited Action" seems to connotate burning through Action Points to do a whole lot of the same sorts of things--run really far, strike an opponent many times, make repeated turn undead attempts, and so on. Thinking of the situations that would warrant the use of the Feat, something like "Desperate Heroics" or "Desperate Actions" might be more clear and in line with the spirit of the Feat. Thanks for sharing, Galen_Michael! |

Add that, the character becomes fatigued if it spends 5 or more action points in a round. If a character needs to use 5 actions in a round there doing some amazing stuff and will probably need to get a breath or reorient are those action packed 6 seconds. |
| mystraca02-10-05, 12:12 AM | What about the penalty- just to offset the very powerful ability to burn through a "boss" mob. of it costing 1 AP per time that they spend AP beyond the first in 1 turn? That way even if for example an Extreme Explorer/paladin/monk were to use extreme hustle to move in to a foe(1 ap), make a full attack and a use of action surge (2 ap) and a few more on extra smite evil usage (2 ap), an extra stunning fist (2ap) maybe an extra quivering palm (2 ap)--- while that one little round could have used up alot of thier AP for their level it could have demolished a very powerful creature in a single round that was designed to be defeated with tought and tactics instead of using the "Afterburners". The huge cost of 9 AP would instead be 13. |
