| Takasi12-03-04, 05:46 PM | Just posted on the Breland Ledger (http://breland-ledger.blogspot.com/): The Binding Stone - The Dragon Below, Book 1 (August 2005) The Binding Stone features the brand new races that were created specifically for the Eberron campaign setting. It’s also the first Eberron novel to take its readers on an exploration of many uncharted territories in the setting. Unfortunately, the cover art for the other book is mistakenly showing a Forgotten Realms book (The Ogre's Pact): The Crimson Talisman - The War-Torn, Book 1 (May 2005) The Crimson Talisman is the first title in a new Eberron series that focuses on war-torn souls that have known nothing but a world in chaos. Each book in this series will focus on the aftermath of The Last War, in which every realm of the Eberron setting fought a bitter and long-lasting battle. From the description, it sounds like this might be the winner of the Eberron novel submissions WotC requested a few months back. |
| ieattrollsforbreakfast12-03-04, 06:07 PM | I just noticed that and came to post the news...seems like you beat me to it ;) Anyway, the Binding Stone has nice cover art, shame we can't see any for the Crimson Talisman. I don't think the CT is the winner of the open call. I seem to remeber that the winner was due to be published in november next year rather than may. I also recall that the War-Torn books are a series, but each book is only related in theme, and not in plot, so this could be an entirely different story to the open call winner's novel. |

| hiryuu12-04-04, 02:36 AM | The last novel in the series is going to be the open call winner. |
| HeartlessDM12-05-04, 11:21 AM | The last novel in the series is going to be the open call winner. Correct. The winner of the contest is expected to have the 1st draft done around Nov 2005. The publish date will, of course, be much later. Spiros |

| JohnnyONeal12-06-04, 11:28 AM | I believe so! I just updated the story at the Breland Ledger (http://breland-ledger.blogspot.com/) with the appropriate picture and the information. Thanks to the inquisitives here for helping us keep the story straight! By the way, for any Eberron Journal fans out there, I apologize for the lack of updates. Due to web host weirdness, we're stuck on a server that I can't FTP to, so the only thing that we can update reliably is the Breland Ledger. Don't worry, though! We're about to get a new home, courtesy of another major Eberron fan site. Stay tuned. |
