| Maldroth06-07-07, 11:25 AM | Eventually I'll be starting an Eberron campaign and I've been slowly reading the material to get up to speed on what is in the world. I have an idea but I wanted to see what you guys thought and see what could be done to fit it more with what is known in the world. The party will be apart of an expedition company. The owner is an older artificer. His body is failing and is going the path of the Mastermaker (the PrC from Magic of Eberron). He's using the PCs to find more materials and research about the creation forges to further his work. They don't know all of this up front but he's also not screwing them over in the deal either. So the question I have is what else is known about the creation forges? I know I'd like to take them to Xen'drik and was curious if anything relating to the forges is there as well. Aside from the initial premise I haven't thought of much else really is dependant on what the rest of the group makes for characters. |

I am sure, however, that other people here can help you with this. If not, try and flip through the pages of Secrets of Xen'drik - that should enlighten you with some information, I suppose. Good luck! |

Also there was earlier versions of warforged being built on Xendrik a long time ago and the party could find theese in the forests in xendrik. Read up on House Cannith in Dragonmarked book and Everything in Secrets of Xendrik. |

In Secrets of Xen'drik, they introduce the idea that the quori created a primitive version of the warforged to help fight the giants hundreds of years before the current day. They have a new template even to represent this. According to the main ideas as I understand them, the initial forges Cannith created were basically ripped off from the plans of these first quori forges in Xen'drik. |

The Mastermaker was going to be a House Cannith member and was taking residence in Xen'drik to avoid some of the hassles associated with his reasearch. Since there is much to be discovered in Xen'drik funding an expedition company makes good sense. I did also read that Merix does support Xen'drik expeditions. I have one player that's been saying "We can't go to Xen'drik its too tough too high level." So is it? I mean obviously they wouldn't be digging in some of the deeper areas of the continent right off the bat but I'm sure there is ample adventure in the area from the 3-5 range around say Stormreach. |

Despite the existence of Secrets of Xen'drik, the continent remains the least-detailed one on purpose (Argonesson actually beats it right now, but won't soon). DO what you want. Drow with only a single NPC class level are great foes for low-level players, as are animals and minor magic animals in the jungle. What I did once as a DM to get my low-level PCs ready for the next part of their adventure in Xen'drik was to play out the boat trip there (on a cheap, non-elemental vessel it's a very long trip). I set up a murder mystery with the suspects being another adventuring party. |
