A lot of the characters on the artwork and background are usualy "travelling light". Indeed, many of the characters you see on the covers aren't wearing any armour. I think it fits the swashbuckling style of Eberron. Wich brings me to a fact: no player wants to forego armour (well not in my gaming group), even if it means losing the chase or sinking in the well. So I thought to give the possibility of boosting a character's AC with a special dodge bonus given by action point roll. BUT, I thought it would be better to limit this dodge bonus to the max Dex bonus given by armour. Thus, even poor armored characters get a chance in fights and can put their gold in other things than protective item. What do you think about that? Do you have new ways to use action point to share? |

Active Defense Pre Req: Action Points, Dex 13 The character may spend an action point and add the result of the roll to her AC as an immediate action declared after an attack is announced, but before the reults are determined. Alternatively the character may spend 2 action points and receive the bonus for 1 full round. Heroic Vigor Pre Req: Action Points, Con 13 As a standard or full round action a character may spend action points to be healed a number of HP equal to the action roll (1d6, 2d6, or 3d6 taking highest) + the constitution modifier. If the character spends 1 action point use of this feat is a standard action. The character may choose to spend multiple action points, adding the result of all the action rolls together, but the constituition modifier only applies once. In either case this feat can only be used once per day. I have a couple more, but my notes aren't handy. |

They automatically are assumed to make a roll of 11, and the PCs must make a defense roll. Action points work well with this system. No feat is needed. You just spend a point to add to the roll. |
| davethebrave37112-09-05, 05:28 PM | I take the DMG variant of rolling AC. 10 AC is simply taking 10 on your Armor Class, and I don't let people take 10 on attack rolls, so I don't let them take 10 on AC rolls. |
