I assumed that when I visited the site yesterday morning and didn't see any new articles, that the WotC staff were sleeping in from watching the NCAA tournament. I get on the site today and there is still nothing for Eberron, but there are the standard Tuesday articles.

WotC, what gives?

Maybe we hurt someone's feelings by constantly complaining about Clockwork Wonders...

What's better: getting free, but questionable, content, or not getting any at all?

Edit: I would like to clarify that I have not posted an opinion on whether or not I like Clockwork Wonders. I'm just replying to Avon's post.

I didn't mean to make it sound like I thought this was better. I was just offering a speculation in answer to your "WotC, what gives?" question.

I've been annoyed with the choppyness of the new articles. To me it feels like their aren't any new articles for a few days and then there's five new ones and the cycle repeats.

That's because there aren't any Eberron articles for a few days. Eberron articles are only put up on Mondays.

I wasn't coming down on you, Avon, I was just asking another question. Sort of like "Is it better to have loved and lost, or to not have loved at all?" That type of question.

I'm going through withdrawals. I haven't gotten a new sourcebook since 'Faiths of Eberron.' I haven't received the new Dragon mag, yet, and I'm stuck on a not-so-exciting story in 'Tales of the Last War.' I need some Eberron stuff!

Earlier this year the same thing was happening with the FR articles, which went three weeks without an update iirc. People have time off, get sick, or are too busy working on other projects. I wouldn't worry about it till nothing appears next week myself. :)

The number of articles seems to have generally decreased since WotC started dropping hints about their "digital initiative" where they charge a monthly fee to get access to a number of features, including exclusive articles.

I have actually been impressed with some of the articles lately. There was one that had epic feats for warlocks, there is the cityscape web enhancements with a bunch of new stuff, and the return of the Mind's Eye.

I wouldn't mind paying for additional content, but it would have to have content that blows what we currently get out of the water. I have only heard a little bit about this 'digital initiative.' Where can I look to get all the good info on it?

I, for one, miss my Sharn Inquisitive edition this week, and have sent a Clockwork Modron to the Chief Editor in protest.

You know, nothing stops you from hanging up a sign here on the boards and filling out the rest of the paper with articles from the Sharn inquisitives. I'm certain that with all the creative people that frequent these boards, you'd have no end to contributing reporters.

They're up today. They're alright.

Alright?!?! Terribly wrong!
The clockwork autoscribe essentially allows the creation of scrolls at a reduced rate of time, in exchange for extra XP, but no change to the gold piece cost.

This is clearly impossible! As goblin_pride will surely tell you, "Time is Money, friend!"

Those are Eberron articles only in name. I ignore them. They'd better not charge us for that level of crap in the pay-for articles version.

I thought the Sharn Inquisitive and the SoS web enhancements were pretty cool. Intriguing Khorvaran politics and extra info about Sarlona! :dancin:

No, I'm fairly certain that time is time and money is money. But I could be wrong, I mean, I have been before so I can't discount the possibility.

Missed reference makes glug sad panda.

edit: on an unrelated note, anyone else find it wonderful that WizO_SITH closed up the Star Wars vs. Eberron thread?

Life is good.
