Araciss 08-01-04, 04:55 PM	I got the idea to write this post after reading "Eberron in Thurkish" and "Names Translated in French". It's not very original, since I'm doing the same thing that was done in the posts that inspired me, but after all, why not? So, here you'll get "Eberron in Norse" Changeling - Bytting. Changelings are creatures from Norwegian/European folklore, and we call them bytting(er). Shifter - Skifter means the same, and is pronounced almost the same, just remember to use a Germanic R. Warforged - Verjskapte used a littled Old Norse in that word. I've translated it to a word that could mean both "someone made to protect" and "Warforged". Magewright - Runemaker most people can understand that, even though it's Norwegian. Demon Wastes - Skrømtmarkene means "the marks (mark as in Ritttermark, LotR) of Horrors. Flametouched Iron - Flammejern literally Flame Iron. Soarwood - lettved Light Wood

Well, you have Vestfold, Eastfold, Folde, Dunharrow (from Dunhov), Fenmarch (Finnmark), West Emnet (Vestemnet), East Emnet (Østemnet), troll, Smaug, Smyagol, holbytla, all the dwarven surnames (Gimli, Gloin etc). We a municipalities in Norway named Westfold (Vestfold), Eastfold (Østfold) and Fenmarch (Finnmark), so you can imagine how many times we bursted out in laughter when we saw LotR2: "They have taken Westfold." "We have 600 men from Fenmarch." What a funny movie. And I did understand some of Eowyns lament also, even though that was in OE.
