ArthurQ 11-11-04, 11:31 AM	Hi Folks. Some of you know me as BrooklynKnight from the Eberron Chatroom, aka Brueklen d'Cannith at the Breland Journal. One of the goals of the Eberron Chatroom is to hold a monthly workshop with Keith Baker. This month we'll be holding a chat focusing on the release of Sharn: City of Towers, but time permitting we still hope to hold a seprate workshop event. Till now the chats not centered on a book release have been pretty open ended. This time around I'd like to have a focus. Help us choose the topic of the next Workshop. Post your suggestions and requests below and I'll review them and decide with Keith what topic we wish to focus on for that chat! Thanks again everyone!

ArthurQ 11-11-04, 12:03 PM	Honestly I dont know. Keith lives in the midwest and I live on the east coast. I usually have school till 6 or 8pm est. And Keith is probably buzy working. I hold these chats at "prime time" because focusing on the east coast works for the majority of chatters.

SirLoin 11-11-04, 07:41 PM	I would like to hear his views on the Prophecy. If it is going to play some sort of role in the development of Eberron I would like the know the signifigance of it. It premeates the boards like a plague of locusts. My players ask me about it and i provide them with a blank stare. 13...I am sick of that number. I want something just so I can at least allude to it in my campaign and use it as a developmental tool.
Hellcow 11-11-04, 07:45 PM	I would like to hear his views on the Prophecy. Within the confines of my NDA, I don't think I could make an hour's chat of that. However, you are right: it's an aspect of the setting that has been woefully underdeveloped in terms of giving DMs what they need to use it, if only at a distance. Tell you what - I'll write my next Dragonshard article about the Prophecy. Though be warned that I'm writing far in advance, so that doesn't mean you'll see it next week.
Edymnion 11-11-04, 08:06 PM	How about a focus on racism and discrimination in Eberron? We've got two new races that are specifically said to have very rocky relationships with others, the Changlings and the Warforged. Says right in the Changling description that no one trusts them, and many still see the WF as property, not people. We've also got issues with the Shifters, who are descendants of the much feared and hated Lycanthropes who were hunted to near extinction by the Church of the Silver Flame. The elves have the whole betrayal thing to deal with, the Dwarves are seen as being barbaric, there's LOTS of fodder for racial tension, discrimination, and outright hatered that can be tapped into.

Location and history of traditional Prophecy texts The Dragon Above - details on the stars and moons The changing shape of the Ring of Siberys The nature of dragonmarks that appear "on the sides of mountains or the walls of caves Other "canvases" where dragonmarks have appeared For each of these, can we see some "crunchy bits" to go along with them, not just fluff? For example, I think the idea of Dragonmarks as landmarks that produce certain magical effects (perhaps with temporary boosts to dragonmark races) can make some great hooks for campaigns. I'd like to see a few sample locations for this. Staying on topic for the Breland Ledger, my FLGS called and said I could pick up City of Towers today! Unfortunately I couldn't make it into town so I'll have to wait until tomorrow. After I give it a good read I'll have some questions ready for the chat; maybe sometime this weekend I'll post.

For each of these, can we see some "crunchy bits" to go along with them, not just fluff? Unfortunately, I am very limited in my ability to put crunchy material into Dragonshard articles because they don't go through the usual development cycle, so heavy crunch will have to wait until a sourcebook or something similar. But I have a few ideas I might be able to fit in.
ArthurQ 11-13-04, 03:43 PM	Heh, with the limited input above, and cause The Prophecy will be a dragonshard, unless anyone has other ideas, The next workshop (after the Sharn chat),unless keith or anyone else has objections will be on Dragonmarked Families. I'll be contacting keith to schedule the next chat as soon as I notice Sharn in bookstores. Prolly 2/3 weeks after to give everyone a good chance to buy and read it. If its not on the shelves by the end of this coming week, I think we'll do the Workshop first.
