Does it feel like one should almost forget the lords of dust, forget the blood of vol/emerald claw, forget the lord of blades, forget the cult of the dragon below/planes of xoriat doods.

They should all get out of the way for the inspired/quori of Riedra. Now dont get me wrong, im not calling those other guys chumps. Just in the books for eberron that i posses (which is most of them) there plans are just not on the same scale according to whats KNOWN IN THE RAW.

Individually somebody could come up with a situation that makes a lord of dust for example the deadliest. But, without any work on the part of the dm the Quori must present the most significant threat to Eberron-even though they do not seek to destory the world.

I was wondering if this provided insight into the relative 'inactivity' of the other groups, mostly the lords of dust. They are waiting to see what happens because it is riedra poised to take over. I though that perhaps bringing about the change in the dreaming dark-by opposing the largest and clearest threat to the world, might be the ultimate adventure.

Consider, one could easily connect this to the dragon prophecy-then to the church of the silver flame (the path of light anyone) especially if one reads that force as being the same force worshiped around many parts of eberron (ie the barbarians in the demon wastes to the yuan ti on sarlona.)

What are your thouhts on who the biggest villian are. And though it remains undeveloped what did you think of the basic platform for the ultimate adventure story in eberron.

Im starting a new campaign thats designed to be played for two years-2x a week. So it needs to be big.

For me, it's the demons. They make EVERYTHING happen.

Yeah, for me it'd be either the Lords of Dust or the Daelkyr.

As ruthless as the Quori might seem, they're ultimately only concerned with their survival. If mortals dream different dreams and bring about il-Yannah, the Quori are finished, so keeping Eberron going in some form or fashion that is beneficial to the continuing status of il-Lashtovar is a necessity for them.

Same with the Lord of Blades. He's certainly not a nice fellow, but there is the metagame understanding that if there was a Warforged nation for him to govern, he'd pretty much be satisfied unless the urge to conquer was too great to resist.

The Lords of Dust and the Daelkyr, OTOH, seem genuinely interested in breaking the planet & don't seem to really care about mere power of rule..

With peril leading to strange bedfellows, it's not all that big of a stretch to wager that your players might find themselves in a temporary alliance with the Quori / Inspired or the Lord of Blades in order to fend off a greater, apocalyptic threat like the Daelkyr or the Lords of Dust.

With the Quori Inspired being the most likely faction given the Rajah that is apparently imprisoned in Mount Korrandar.

The "big battle" itself wouldn't be half as interesting as the aftermath where the PC's and their semi-treacherous allies attempt to convince themselves that destroying one another might be a bad idea.

So, you want one big, uber epic adventure? Four words: The Reawakening of Khyber. That would definitely draw on the Cult of the Dragon Below, and possibly the Lords of Dusk. Possibly even the Daelkyr, with the association of Khyber with the Xoriat (sorta - both are associated with the "evils" of aberrant marks, for example). Imagine: the world splitting open to release one of the progenitor dragons. Apocolypse. Assume everyone doesn't die with Eberron splitting open like that. Eberron the dragon is of course going to have to rise to recapture Khyber. I don't think anyone or anything could survive that.

I was inspired by one theory about the Mourning. It was the result of the Khyber just stirring a little bit. You know, just an itty bitty twitch. Somehow get the PCs to realize the Mournland was just a twitch compared to what's coming. If that doesn't scare the characters, nothing will.

Yeah, I definitely think that would make the Cult of the Dragon Below scariest.

But also consider what if the Xoriat became coterminus. The last time the world was saved by clearly epic level druids. Eberron doesn't currently have that many high-level characters.

Right, i know that what the quori want is relatively benign compared to other races.
However, under the Rules/story as written, they actually seem to be in the best position to accomplish this. The rajahs are relatively benign unless the dm does the work of making them not. The natural consequence of the Dreaming dark however is that they control the largest continent on the world ruling millions of lives and are in position to expand that.
