With some modifications to make it setting specific, it seems like this could be used as the prison of a Rajah. It would entail a lot of changes: big mean orcs changes to rakshashas or other demons/cultists, but I think the dungeon could work. If anyone has any ideas or advise, or if you think I'm completely nuts, please let me know |

There were a number of takes on the character of the creature as a whole. * We used Orcus as a 'misinterpretation' of the Keeper, so that's where the "Orcus is a God" bit comes from. * We also had Orcus as a Balor of the Lords of Dust. Nothing really changed since Eberron is a lower powered level, other than Balor could grant a weird prestige class in Eberron. * I think Keith Baker has hinted 'Spawn of Khyber' can substitute for most of the Book of Vile Darkness baddies. |

Given Nalfishnees hobby of judging dead souls, Orcus as a supreme judge of the dead would make a logical candidate for a cult. If you cared to make use of the Orcus-Demogorgon-Grazzt rivalry, the Dolurrh angle is useful if you say that Demogorgon and Grazzt raided Dolurrh for souls to fuel their war efforts, thus spurring Orcus to take countermeasures (as neither the Nalfishnees nor Maruts care for souls being removed from their domain). I have also had Orcus claim to be the Keeper (and Grazzt claim to be the Shadow), without the claim being necessarily true. |

They were present in the Age of Demons but "escaped" to the plane of Shavvarath when the coatls begin imprisoning the other fiends. Demogorgon, Grazzt and Orcus are constantly warring against one another thereby keeping the demon factions weak. They do little on the Material Plane, because if any one demon lord would draw his attention to the Material Plane they would probably lose their footing at Shavvarath. Again, I took a lot of liberties with my Eberron. |
