12-11-05, 12:44 AM I really, really want to play a Thunder Guide PRC, I have ever since I picked up the Explorer's Guide... however, I'm also toying with the idea of playing a paladin.

Anyone have a good roleplaying/story reason why a paladin would go into the Thunder Guide PRC? I know it isn't exactly the best idea optimization-wise, but I like the concept.

12-11-05, 12:59 AM How about this:

Every religious organization needs a guide to spread the word of their religion to the heathens of the untracked lands. They need someone knowledgable in the ways of the locals. They need someone to guide them.

In short, a Paladin Thunder Guide is a missionary.

One alternative might be more of a "relic hunter" type of religious warrior. He has learned the ways of other cultures in order to find relics important to his faith in far distant cultures.

Cheers,

I was thinking about something along these lines, although more along the lines of finding ancient knowledge and powerful artifacts before they can be used for evil rather than because they are important relics of my faith.

For example, a Silver Flame Paladin/Thunder Guide who explores Xendrik to find ancient lore and artifacts before they can fall into the hands of less scrupulous explorers, such as the twelve's aquisition directorate, or the Emerald Claw.

12-11-05, 03:44 AM Perhaps many years ago he swore an oath to track down and bring to justice someone who fled to the remote regions of Eberron. In the years since, the paladin travelled many lands and learned many skills in pursuit of his target...

What did the target do? Has he been brought to justice yet? Up to you!

12-11-05, 12:42 PM Are there any Paladin-specific PRCs in the Eberron books? The Silver Flame excorist in the ECS is the only one that comes to mind for me...
