06-20-04, 11:13 AM I would love to see some PC Portraits for Eberron. Especially the Kalashtar. This would give us alittle more perspective on various style they might wear. Atleast until they do a book on Sarlona. Any votes for other race Portraits?

06-20-04, 11:47 AM That could be cool. Maybe some pictures of the Eberron "iconics". By that I just mean the characters that are in the comic strip-like chapter openers...such as Arlok, Baristi, Noerra, etc.
The more pictures the better taste we can acquire for the cultural and racial differences. It is good to know what things look like.

06-20-04, 04:50 PM How about NPC portraits like artificers, magewrights, dragon marked representatives, and other interesting NPC's that your players will interact with, put a face to the name.

06-20-04, 05:28 PM Yea illustrations of important NPC's are somewhat missing. I'd like to see at least the most important ones: Vol, Jelea, Prince Ryger, Kaius lll, Oalian (:D), The daughters of Sora Kell, Boranel, Kings of the other three of the five nations, the patriarchs/matriarchs of the dragonmarked houses, high kingShaeras Vadallia and the sibling kings. So far of all the leaders out there, we've only seen theLhesh Haruuc.

Hmm, I don't know if Baristi would be a good idea. Not that I don't like her, or her appearance, but she is significantly different from all the other shifters in the book visually. For one thing, in all but one of the illustrations (that one being "planning an adventure"), she is depicted as having a light coat of brown fur covering her body. Also, please note that we don't ever see if she has sideburns or forearm hair, and that her eyes and nose are not depicted the way that shifters are described. I like Baristi, but I think a more "normal" shifter would be a better choice, so that people can get a better understanding of what shifters look like.

I actually prefer Barisit's look to the 'normal shifter' so In my games they'll have a sleeker look than the rough shifters of the ecs (ei: pg 19)

07-11-04, 03:29 AM The other players and I are using pics from this (http://www.jaestudio.com/JaeStudioIllustration.htm) website for our characters for an upcoming game. Not much for warforged, specifically, but there's a couple characters whose features are covered enough that they work for our warforged.

Our necromancer is using this (http://www.jaestudio.com/HallOfSouls.jpg) for his portrait.
Our warforged is using this (http://www.jaestudio.com/CityofTwilight.jpg) for his portrait (mithral body + skinny trait - we see no reason not to allow it for style purposes).
I'm using this (http://www.jaestudio.com/Tempest.jpg) for my portrait.
To my knowledge, our psion hasn't found a portrait yet. :(

07-17-04, 11:36 PM I think the potential for character portraits in Eberron is ultimately phenomenal, however, I'm not quite sure if asking someone else to do them is the best way to see these portraits.
I trust that everyone posting is a gamer, and to be a gamer one must possess a decent imagination. I'm just begging you to use it. Take some time to sketch a few views of a race, different styles, different personas. And if (like me) you're not an artist in that sense, why not sit down on Word and hammer out an awesome short story describing your idea of a race or even your own character. Words paint a thousand pictures, I always say.
I feel like the authors of Eberron have left a lot to the imagination, no...a lot to our imagination, the gamer's mind. I also feel that the point of leaving so much to the imagination is to stimulate it. Make it your game. Make them your races, your styles, your characters. If we have a bunch of people tell us what every detail is, then it's not our game anymore. It's limited to the mind of another. I think its a lot more fun playing my game...that's just my opinion.

01-06-05, 11:04 PM I'd definitely like to see some character portraits. I'd like to see:

- More examples of what people from the various nations might look like
- "Generic" Aerenal elves (not just the Stillborn and the Undying Court priests)
- More Zilargo gnomes
- More clothing styles that differ from the standard D&D look

In the meantime, if you haven't already, check out some of the concept art (http://www.coveworld.net/eberron/gallery.html) that never made it into the book. You can pick up some cool hints there!
