First things first - my group (you know who you are), Rid, Raven, Alaric & Marten etc. Please keep your players out of this thread. :P

Okay for everyone else, within the next few adventures I'm thinking of 'giving' my group a small airship for their own personal use. They'll have to claim it etc. but it should be good fun.

Basically do you think this appropriate for a group of PCs, is it too much? DMs - would you be okay with your group getting one?

The Longbow: 60 ft long, 20ft wide (at deck) & 15 ft tall. The upper deck has the pilots position near the rear (as do most craft).

History: the Longbow was originally designed as a pleasure yacht of the air for a private owner, a Zil Aurum member from Zilargo. He however ran afoul of the Emerald Claw, who promptly changed the facade of the craft, and re-gigged the internal compartments turning the craft into a short-range transport ship capable of fast, dangerous missions and smuggling.

The craft's hull is sleek, dark and veined with magical energy. The hull is made of darkwood, with a soarwood frame and bronzewood reinforced hull, this increases its ability to withstand damage (upped Hardness). This added weight also means that while the craft can float without the direct propulsion of the ring, if the bound elemental is destroyed or freed, then the ship will crash to the ground.

The elemental ring (fire) circles the craft's middle, the top and bottom struts however are found at the rear of the ship, curving from the rear 5ft of the craft.

Main deck (55L/20w):
The main deck features a 4ft tall railing, a stern castle that is 3ft above the main deck and an elevated ballista in the middle of the deck, with a full 15ft of open deck in front if it.

Just in front of stern castle there is a hatch and ladder to the bottom of the craft.

stern castle - The rear 15ft of the deck is taken up by the stern castle. This has a 4ft railing and is the home of the pilots seat & an optional rear crossbowman. The pilots chair/station is directly in-front of the elemental strut (supported stool is build in). The stern castle rises above the main deck with steps leading up to the wheel and a rear-mounted repeating heavy energybow.

Hold/lower deck:
the lower deck is only 6ft high and 18 ft wide at the floor. There are 3 ever bright lanterns that provide illumination in the lower deck. One by the ladder, another in the rear corridor, the other at the forward hatch.

Cargo section - The lower deck is predominantly cargo space. The ladder down opens into the cargo section (ladder is on the port side of the square), to carry maximum cargo only a central walkway is kept clear. The outer sections of the hull have racks on some places while the rest is open decking for various cargo.

viewing bulb - at the front of the hold there is a hardened glass bulb. This is intended to aid navigation and to allow the crew to view what is directly below them - secondary chart room. There is a localized circle of sound built in to the room - this links to another circle of sound up the top, beside the pilot.

bottom hatch - directly behind the viewing bulb behind there is a trapdoor (magical keyrod lock) w rope ladder stowed in the roof that allows crew to disembark), the trapdoor opens up towards the bulb thus blocking use of the bulb.

Rear section. - The rear section under the stern castle is 7 ft tall and has three main areas of interest:
The weapons lockers, the elemental chamber and the crew quarters.

Elemental chamber: this small 5 foot wide chamber is protected against fire damage and is incredibly hot when opened. The chamber can be accessed with a key-rod (much like the one used in SotLW, Garrow will have one on his person).

Weapons lockers: These 'secure cargo' areas, have been converted into a pair of weapons/amour lockers. These 5x5ft lockers have weapons racks, space for armour to be stored and also buckets for arrows/bolts. one contains bolts for the Heavy crossbow (100) & Ballistae (25) on deck. The lockers have an amazing lock on each one (key is on the pilot).

Crew berths: These small 5x10ft rooms are in fact permanent versions of Leomund's tiny hut. The starboard version is is a room that holds 5 bunks (room for 10) and has small personal lockers for each bunk, asleep in here is the pilot (aberrant mark). There are windows, that somehow do show what is happening outside.

The port extra-dimensional space was intended for the crafts original owner and was once probably a luxurious master bedroom. Now however it contains three cots, a desk and a small altar to the Blood of Vol.

So yeah PEACH me please - I haven't posted the stats/speed but I'm envisioning a speed of 90 or maybe 100-110. Faster that your average airship, but smaller so it can't exactly tangle with a Lyrandar 300 footer.
