| AbsentMindedProfessor01-15-07, 10:07 AM | I orginally posted thisw question on the Artificer's thread, but at Ael's suggestion I have moved it here. So... Would House Phiarlan be secretive enough to have their own Artificers so that they can have stuff made in House so that they don't have to deal with Cannith? Their own Q division, I suppose. And would they be behind the scenes or would they have their own store front with the secret stuff behind the curtain? |
| The_Robot01-15-07, 11:10 AM | i see no reason why any of the dragonmarked houses would keep their own small group of artificers so as to not have to deal with Cannith. especially Phiarlan, due to their covert dealings, they might not want Cannith to know what they're building cause they might be spying on Cannith with that same equipment. as far as a "store front" scenario goes...Phiarlan isn't soley about spying. they are also known as entertainers. its my assumption then, that they act openly as entertainers (see: bards, writers, poets, etc.) and only secretly as spies and covert agents...so, while they probably don't opperate a "store front" as such, they do operate a legitmate business to cover up their more seedy dealings. |

| The White Sorcerer01-15-07, 11:39 PM | Would House Phiarlan be secretive enough to have their own Artificers so that they can have stuff made in House so that they don't have to deal with Cannith? Well, making dragonmark focus items requires the possession of the appropriate dragonmark, so Phiarlan needs to have its own artficers for those. And while they're at it, those same artificers might as well make other stuff, too. Why reveal the tools of the trade to Cannith? |
