Links for the various marks that have been presented in this thread are below in blue. I will maintain this thread as best I can such that we can continue the sharing of ideas. Thank you.

I was digging through the archive when I came across a thread by Save-vs-DM, which touched on aberrant dragonmark progressions. In that thread he started on flushing out the following progressions:

Flame - Weild & control flames
Fear - Power over fear
Dominion - Power to control others (Madness?)
Disruption - Power to disrupt life (Death?)
Infiltration - Power to infiltrate hidden places
Flight - Power to fly
Wounding - Power to wound others
Spiders - Power to mimic spiders
Radiance - Power over light
Wilderness - Power over wild places
Elements - Power over the elements
Battle - Power to produce shields & weapons
Force - Power over force magic

Came out to the mystical 13...with the unfortunate duplication, in my perception, of the Mark of Death. The MoD is one of the 13 Marked Houses, though now destroyed but kept on life support by the Lich Queen.

The great thing, for me, was the several overlaps to my developing Marks of Khyber (or atleast that is what they will be called in my campaign by the Dragonmarked Houses....gotta love that medieval spin-doctoring).

This is definitely a homebrew divergence, but I would like to stay with the theme of 13. I am hoping through the course of several campaigns that I will be able to develop serious intrigue in true Eberron fashion, which would likely culminate in a new War of the Mark. Of course, utilizing the standard themes that the aberrants are born of Khyber and the Dragonmarked Houses are corrupt.

I have currently flushed out 10 of the 13 and trying to flush out the remaining 3. Mine are as follows:

Flushed out:

Mark of Lumination (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13057767&postcount=2) - Power over light (I really like Radiance as the name :) )
Mark of Augury (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13977761&postcount=29) - Sight into the future and prophecy
Mark of Fear (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=14047502&postcount=30) - Power to instill fear
Mark of Plague (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13098911&postcount=13) - Influence over sickness, disease and infestations
Mark of Frost (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=14290820&postcount=31) - Wield & control cold
Mark of Force (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13072620&postcount=8) - Force Magic & Telekinesis
Mark of Sounding (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13163612&postcount=15) - Power over sound and sonics
Mark of Domination - Power to influence the minds of others (Madness)
Mark of Flame - Wield & control fire
Mark of Deception - Power to mislead and deceive

(Also working on finalizing the Mark of Death (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=883262))

Still in development:

Mark of Entropy (Destruction)
Mark of Nature
Mark of Gating - Influence over portals and the planes

Possible Contenders:
Mark of Wounding (the Inflicts & Harm just can't be denied)
Mark of Dessication - Influence over the desert & dessication
Mark of Celerity (http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13431752&postcount=17) - Ability to influence movement & motion (Haste, Featherfall, Cat's Grace, etc.)

I would appreciate any feedback or insights others have. I will also post my progressions as time permits or if requested. Thanks!

I'm actually working on a campaign involving a false 'New Dragonmarked House' with the 'Mark of Flame'.

It's about 90% chicanery and manipulation, but it's going to look convincing to the players. At first.

The truth behind it is that the head of the house (who has a greater abberant mark 'mixed mark') is insane, and being manipulated by a powerful being masquerading as his grandfather.

Lesser members of the house are a mix of people with abberant marks with fire powers, and rings enchanted with a modified version of mask abberant dragonmark, that makes their mark look like the head of house's.

The kicker, which lends credence to their claims, is the 'Siberys' dragonmark that one member has. This is a complex trick. It involves a false dragonmark, tattooed using ink made from crushed dragonshards.

Very nice. This concept would work relatively well in impersonating a True Dragonmarked House also. I like it.

Our campaigns first delve into the expanded aberrants involves the parents of one of our characters. They were Archeologists for Morgrave University who stumbled upon the Sulatar of Xen'drik (SoX-p51). Their tradition of fire and devotion to the flame is intrinsic. Over time they have manifested aberrant marks. Through diligence and selective breeding they have weened those marks such that they now have a sect within their culture that manifest similar appearing aberrant marks, most of which present entirely fire-based SLEs.

The parents of our character dissappeared over 18 months ago.

The hypothesis that we are running with is that all marks began as aberrant marks and through time, coincidence and intellectual design they eventually manifested "true".

My character has a Force-themed mark. It's not exactly an aberrant mark, but that's another story... I haven't got the whole progression planned yet, but I want to stick to the concept of moving things from afar. I'd put the telekinesis spell in there, but I'm not sure where to put it. Any ideas?

Mark of Telekinesis (could use a better name)

Least: Mage Hand (2/day), ??
Lesser: Improved Mage Hand* (2/day), ??
Greater: ??
Syberis: ??

+2 bonus on Sleight of Hand checks

Prodigy: ??
Adept: ??
Visionary: ??

Anyway, it sounds like a cool campaign.

What is in the Eberron Campaign Setting on the War of the Mark is a lie. The Dragonmarked Houses wants you to think Aberrant Marks are dangerous, but they aren't. The truth is that there were no such thing like Aberrant Dragonmarks when the whole War of the Mark started. Remember that history is written by the victorious. In fact, the eleven 'True' Dragonmarked Houses* were trying to establish commerce domination over some sectors of the developping industries. However, instead of sharing power with the Khyber Marked Houses, they prefer dismantling their opponents, for they are the Eberron Marked Houses. The few Siberys Marked people joined them by fear of elimination.

Lord Tarkanan, the 'Lady of the Plague' and several others were noble Khyber Marked personalities, but once persecuted by the Dragonmarked Houses they were in the obligation to defend themselves. That is when the War of the Mark exploded. Many cities suffered, including Sharn. But not only from the Khyber Marks' powers, but also from the Eberron Marks. Soon, many of the Khyber Marked were killed and exiled to Xen'drik. The 'threat' was over. The Dragonmarked Houses established commerce facilities and many guilds, and many would trust their name.

Through the Last War, the Dragonmarked Houses gained further power. However, the Khyber Marks sprouted once more. Houses are being formed. House Tarkanan isn't the only 'Aberrant Mark' origanisation. We Aberrants have come to love the title, for which it is filled with our story. Furthermore, it unites us under one banner while they are disembodied. Divided and conquer. We prone fair industrial competition, and therefore need vengeance over the Dragonmarked Houses who once slaughtered many of our parents and elders. An eye for an eye.

-House Tarkanan 'Aberrant' Marked member

* at the beginning of the War of the Mark, there were only eleven Eberron-marked houses since House Vol was destroyed, the Mark of Finding haven't yet appeared and House Phiarlan was still one.

Well, I prefered that fluff text instead of saying the the War of the Mark true purpose was to eradicate the Khyber Marks for less industrial competition and the Aberrant Marks are only rumours spread out by the Houses.

Mark of Force

Lesser: Blast of Force* (2/day), Greater Mage Armor* (1/day), or Marked Pulse@ (1/day)
Greater: Otiluke's Resilient Sphere (2/day) or Telekinesis (1/day)
Syberis: Otiluke's Telekinetic Sphere (1/day)

+2 bonus on Strength based checks

Prodigy: Battering Ram* (1/day) or Force Hammer$ (1/day)
Adept: Scourge of Force* (2/day) or Shockwave$ (1/day)
Visionary: Orb of Force* (2/day) or Shard Storm* (1/day)

$ - Sharn:City of Towers

Finding good spells, especially ones not already used in other marks, was a little bit harder for this mark, but was able to add a significant amount of Eberron flavor to them.

I also looked at Mage Hand. It is a very good candidate, especially for your purposes.

In our campaign, this mark will eventually manifest true in goblins.

Anyway, it sounds like a cool campaign.

Thank you. I appreciate it. I hope I was able to aide you for yours also.

Rekko

Loved the 'fluff' text. I am definitely in the same boat with you in the fact the True houses are spin-doctoring the 'aberrants' to thier advantage. I am thinking hard on whether I am going to 'borrow' the Eberron Mark moniker. I like that alot.

In general, I do not believe that the soul purpose of the Marks was to be merchantile. I believe that a few realized their potential worth to the populace at large and used it to their advantage, especially considering that they are not very threatening abilities on the surface. Others then stepped in line to get a piece of the pie.

In our campaign, we are using the belief that fear of what the 'aberrants' manifested lead to persecution, prejudice and ultimately their attempted elimination. The more useful marks (or those that were hidden better) eventually bred through true via eugenics. The lack of specimens from the more powerful marks have retarded their development.

The Mark of Death, being a powerful mark that ended up breeding true, was ultimately silenced, for the time being, also.

I really like your concept, and would like to hear more.

Well, it is not a concept I'm using for my campaign, it is only something that poured from my brain and filled your computer screen. But to go deeper in this fluff I made for you. You could say that there are thirteen Khyber related Marks, thirteen Eberron Marks and thirteen Siberys Marks. The Eberron Marks would be the thirteen 'True' Dragonmarks (Death, Shadow, Making, Finding, etc.) The thirteen Siberys Marks would be the ones described in the Heir of Siberys PrC plus one Siberys Mark of Death. The thirteen Khyber Marks would be Aberrant Marks growing to lesser, than growing to greater and further grow into Khyber.

I personnaly think that the Dragonmarks would represent the battle the progenitor wyrms had back in the Age of Dragons over the Prophecy. Khyber and Siberys fought, Khyber was the strongest and Siberys was torned and fainting, Eberron teamed up with Siberys to deliver the final blow and bond Khyber to the world under. Siberys shattered became the Ring Above, and Eberron healed the world between.

The Khyber Marks would than progress through four different stages least (being known as Aberrant Mark) lesser, greater, and ultimate (known as Khyber Mark).

Eberron Marks is progressing from least to greater and needs to unite forces with Siberys Marks(ultimate) to stand against Khyber Marks.

The progenitor wyrms fought over the Prophecy and litterally destroyed the world. I think that the dragonmarked characters will fight over industrial overpower and thus destroy the world (pillaging all its ressources) mimiking the events that created the world as we know it. The Current Age is in fact the Last age of this Era. The Last war ended the Current Age (which is now known as the Age of Humans. A new Era and this a new Age has began with the ending of the Last War (who truly deserves its name, since its the last war of and Era). The new Age is known as the Age of the Dragonmarked (note the similarity with Age of the Dragons). The Eras are a semi-repeating pattern. The anciant world is destroyed by the agent of the Prophecy (Dragon progenitor wyrms, Dragonmarked Houses of Commerce) than is it healed by a neutral judge (Eberron, hum.... Marxist :P need to work on that) but only heals it for a new Age of Demons and so forth.

....Wow, how do I do that....?

Rekko

EDIT: You could also say that the Current Age is the first Age of the new Era. It coud be the Age of the Dragonmarked, since dragonmarks started to appear and that the War of the Mark and the Last War could represent the battle of the progenitor wyrms. The second Age of the new Era would be shortly coming with either a New War or another War of the Mark or War of the Houses.

Ok, to spring from your thoughts.

In the beginning, all dragonmarks are what we now call Aberrant Dragonmarks. Strange, unique and bizarre patterns that appear on someone's body and enable her to use potential mystic arcane energy better known as spell-like abilities. As time went on, more dragonmarks appeared and some had the same qualities. Soon, those with the same dragonmarks unite and discovered they come from the same places, and both had similar past, and were very much alike. These unions were early on known as the dragonmarked families, for they started breeding between their pairs and those who were like them. Yet, even if the next generation of the families didn't have the same powers as their parents, they figured out that the purpose of the Marks were still the same (example: Mark of Making = crafts, Mark of Healing, well heal). As many families grew bigger a few new dragonmarked heir manifested not an Aberrant Mark but what we happen now to call a True Mark. Its colors changed, it's patterned were fix from an individual to an other, but their powers remained. Some families were somehow 'chosen' by some greater power for some greater unknown purpose (cough cough * the Prophecy I presume). It is a good thing to mentioned that by that time many families were already established dragonmarked houses. However, not all Houses had the chance of seing a true dragonmark appear within its family members. House Vol, House Phiarlan, House Ghallanda, House Jorasco, House Sivis, House Deneith, House Cannith, House Kundarak and House Lyrandar these nine dragonmarked houses/families had the honor of seing their bloodlines blessed for they were the ones in -1,500 YK (War of the Mark beginning) that their lineage survived for 500 years and became chosen as True Dragonmarks. Sure there has been older families, but they didn't survive for more than 500 years. In -1,500 YK, a notable astronomer Alder d'Cannith (the co-founder of the Twelve) suggested that there would be only thirteen chosen families to bear true dragonmarks. At that time, already nine were chosen, that left four other vacant places. House Orien and House Vadalis were part of the older families still bearing aberrant marks. House Medani was newly born and the Mark of Finding did not yet exist at the beginning of the War of the Mark. The War of the Mark was nothing more than a race between the aberrant marked houses to determined who shal be the remaining four families to be chosen as true marked. Orien, Vadalis and Medani attracted the favors of the already chosen ones, and united they eradicated all other aberrant marked. After the War was over, slowly, Orien, Vadalis and Medani left as the only survivors became true marked after 500 years of existence. The Mark of Finding (Tharashk) appeared deep in the Shadow Marshes in -1,000 YK and became true marked in -500YK away from all persecution. They were discovered and formed as a House of Commerce when Sivis discovered the Mark in 498 YK. Today Aberrant Marks still appear for if a True Marked bloodline disappears another shall be chosen as a true marked, and we all know that Vol's lineage survive by only a string, or a lich if you prefer.

I think this does the Lady of Plague proud. Contemplated the spell Pestilence for the Siberys Mark, but I felt Scourge & Creeping Doom fit better. Especially considering how contagious the plagues that are caused by Pestilence.

I have been pondering this for a bit and I would really like to get some other perspectives on this. Tarkanan & the Lady of the Plague destroyed Sharn. Destruction has been bantered about as the aberrant progression that Halas would have owned. In checking out the Domain of Destruction, it includes Earthquake, Disintegrate and Wounding spells.

While if one were to go with a more 'earthy' approach, you could gain Rock to Mud and the like to assist in the destruction of Sharn.

Any thoughts?

This is one of my favorites. I thought the flavor of the mark came through well. Spell Compendium figured heavily in its generation as there were very few Sonic spells to play with in the PHB. Wail of the Banshee meshes very well with this progression.

The thirteen Khyber Marks would be Aberrant Marks growing to lesser, than growing to greater and further grow into Khyber.

This pretty much the progression we were considering for our campaigns. I have seen recently, that the Siberys marks are considered separate entities from the true dragonmarks. I have also seen here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebds/20070416a) that the Children of Khyber PrC shows us an illustration of an aberrant siberys mark. So, if I were to take this a bit farther, the "true" dragonmarks could then be considered Marks of Siberys and the potential "aberrant true" progressions could be considered the Marks of Khyber. Each branch would have their ultimate manifestations in the Heirs of Siberys and the Heirs of Khyber, respectively.

This would again leave Eberron in the middle, separating the two. To take this even a step further, would it be within the realm of imagination to place a singular "Mark of Eberron", maybe one that could see into the draconic prophecy and even manipulate dragonmarks themselves? One could then even have this mark be the great equalizer, a mark that could manifest on any dragonmarked race....or maybe even one of each race. The "Shapers of the Prophecy" so to speak. Boy, that would really get in the craw of the Chamber. :)

Celerity came together alot better than I had hoped. My biggest concern are the Mass spells and the use of Fly. The flavor is there but, I think they might be a bit much. Using both Haste & Swift Haste feels rather redundant. Overall, I think there is a decent balance for this progression. I will continue to hunt for new spells that might improve on the above concerns.

Dragonmark Destruction
Necromancy
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 9

Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: Touch
Target: Person Touched
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

This spell is a catastrophic power that only the most accomplished wizards can cast. It is almost unheard of in Khorvaire and for good reason, this spell causes the persons dragonmark to literally be destroyed and nearly impossible to recover.

The caster of this spell must target a single humanoid who possesses any true or aberrant dragonmark. He must then succeed on a touch attack. If the target fails it's save it's dragonmark explodes off the targets skin, dealing damage depending on the mark the character bore, leaving only a black scorch mark where the dragonmark was. The target looses any feats he had associated with his dragonmark (least, lesser and greater dragonmark). He does not gain any new feats to take the place of his lost ones. The feats and the subsequent feat slots are simply gone. The target also looses a certain amount of experience points depending on his mark.

Any levels in a prestige class that require a dragonmark still remain but he does not have access to any of it's special abilities. The target may only regain his dragonmark through a Wish or Miracle spell. If he gains bonus feats from class advancement he is barred from taking any dragonmark feats as though he didn't meet the prerequisites.

Dragonmark Damage dealt Experience Lost
Least 1d6 300XP
Lesser 3d6 600XP
Greater 6d6 1200XP
Siberys 12d6 2400XP

Experience Cost: 7,000 XP.

What do you think about aberrant dragonmark powers and psionic?
I mean there must have been some connection between psionics and dragonmarks, like psionic exists at Eberron, dragonshards can be used to enhance psionic powers and I guess there are crystal dragons somewhere, so maybe aberrant dragonmarks can produce psi powers (as psi-like abilites).

I had an extremely similar idea for the campaign that I am planning to run.

Essentially, the BBEG that has an aberrant dragonmark would be accompanied by his girlfriend. His girlfriend is also an aberrant, but her dragonmark allows her to use psionics (basically she would be a Wilder with the aberrant dragonmark feat).

However, I read up on the boards somewhere that it would somewhat kill the fluff if psionics were to be tied into the dragonmarks (even aberrant ones). The rationale behind this was that since Xoriat and Dal Quor (especially Dal Quor) were extraplanar realms that contained a great deal of psionic creatures (e.g., illithids, quori, etc.) and so psionics should be treated as something deriving from the extraplanar. The way he quoted it, it went something like this:

Divine magic is connected to the gods, arcane magic is connected to Eberron itself, and psionics is extraplanar.

Or something like that. I'm not sure if someone would like to corroborate that, though.

I saw this thread and read some really cool stuff. I did have a question if anyone can provide me a little insight. If i were to take an abberant dragonmark you can sort of make up your own like the Mark of Force which i LOVE as it was exactly the sort of chracater i was looking for. I am a little confused as to where to find concrete info that says you can do this as my DM can be very particular about what he lets in. As i have just recently joined an Eberron campaign i must say nice thread!!!

However, I read up on the boards somewhere that it would somewhat kill the fluff if psionics were to be tied into the dragonmarks (even aberrant ones).

The extraplanar realms can affect dragonmarks somehow, you can check the Mark of Xoriat feat from Dragonmarked, "a scion of Khyber whose aberrant dragonmark has been warped by exposure to the lingering horrors of Xoriat".
So maybe a quori influenced mortal, who otherwise would manifest a true dragonmark may instead manifest an aberrant dragonmark with psi powers. The "source" power for the dragonmark could come from Khyber (or whatever powers the aberrant marks), but it would form it to a psi power.

In our campaign my character, a half-orc soulknife has aberrant dragonmark with psi like ability, because his psionic mind had an impact to the dragonmark, and altered it that way.

Wow. Now that's a spell I would reserve only for the most vile of Rakshasa or Prophecy-controlling dragon. Anyone who cast that would literally be causing damage to the Prophecy, something I think many powerful factions would want firmly under their control.

Nice. :D

Psymnotica

This is a spell that would only be found in an ancient tome, something lost for ages, of course, in the past, they didn't usually resort to removing the mark with magic. They would just flay it off their bodies...even if it were a greater mark.

17th level caster, not many of those running around after the Last War, maybe one of those ancient elves might know it...from their ancient tome...

I appreciate the props. However, you wont see anything canon on these, as they are extrapolations on the aberrant marks. (What if the aberrant marks are actually the manifestations of true marks that haven't bread true?) or (What if aberrant marks are the manifestation of contra-true marks that originate from Khyber?).

It would be entirely up to your DM/GM to allow something like this. The pretense in two campaigns I am in (mine and another my buddy runs) is that aberrants are re-exerting themselves in force. They will eventually breed true in a couple/few generations if given the opportunity. However, the powers that be (read Dragonmarked Houses) will continue to try to subvert this threat to their perceived way of life.

For me and my buddy, this is a long term mechination that will occasionally rear its head over the next several campaigns. It could even eventually lead to another War of the Mark (if you even believe the last one truly even ended).

The first item that has set this ball a-rollin' in my buddy's campaign, is that a changeling (yes, that's right a changeling) in our party just manifested an aberrant dragonmark. Needless to say, he has become quite the commodity in the underworld (read Tyrrants).

Syberis: 9level spells

Prodigy:2-3 level spells
Adept: 4-5level spells

From my digging, it has some overlap, and some exceptions, but this is what I have observed:

Least: 0-2nd level spells, with 0-level being 2 per day.
Lesser: 2nd-4th level spells, with 2nd-level being 2 per day.
Greater: 4th-6th level spells, with 4th-level being 2 per day.
Syberis: 5th-9th level, none are ever listed as being 2 per day.

Prodigy, Adept & Visionary emulate Least, Lesser, & Greater respectively.

It is a very interesting idea, that I never truly explored. I guess that may be due to my perception, as well, that psionic powers are implied to be extraplanar.

Mark of Augury

Least: Augury (1/day), Detect Secret Doors (1/day) or Guidance (2/day)
Lesser: Arcane Sight (1/day), Discern Lies (1/day), or Invisibility Purge (1/day)
Greater: Arcane Eye (2/day), Divination (2/day) or Vision (1/day)
Siberys: Overwhelming Revelations (2/day) or Foresight (1/day)

+2 to Knowledge (Arcana) checks

Prodigy: Omen of Peril (1/day) or Status (1/day)
Adept: Chain of Eyes (2/day) or Know Opponent (1/day)
Visionary: Glimpse of Eternity (2/day) or Glimpse of the Prophecy (1/day)

With the Dragonmarks having their place in the Prophecy, wouldn;t it just stick in the craw of the dragons if the "lesser" races gained some sort of insight? Fun for the whole family! :)

There are two different avenues for me in deciding which race this would manifest on. First would be saying that this mark manifests with the other "aberrant true" marks and would, in our campaign manifest on humans, being the most prominent and versatile of the marked races (including a handful of half breeds).

The other avenue would be to make this a third type of mark....an "Eberron" mark. A balancing mark. Outside both the True Dragonmarks and the Aberrant True Marks. This would manifest on all races, including those that normally do not manifest marks. Pick the top 13 humanoid races in Khovaire, and they manifest. With a singular Siberys mark on each race. Those 13 individuals then could make up a Kabal of "lesser" races bent on deciphering the "true" importance of the Prophecy.

Random thought for the day. :)

Mark of Fear

Least: Bane (1/day), Cause Fear (1/day), Doom (1/day) or Ghost Sound (2/day)
Lesser: Scare (2/day) or Ghoul Touch (2/day)
Greater: Fear (2/day), Phantasmal Killer (2/day) or Spirit Wall (1/day)
Siberys: Weird (1/day)

+2 to Intimidate checks

Prodigy: Phantom Threat (1/day) or Smell of Fear (1/day)
Adept: Blade of Pane and Fear (2/day) or Cloak of Bravery (1/day)
Visionary: Aura of Terror (1/day) or Manifest Nightmare (2/day)

In our campaign, this mark will eventually manifest true in Kobolds.

Fear effects don't seem to distribute along the spell levels well, so I ended up with alot of 2/days. However, I do not think they are overpowering effects.

I like this for Kobolds due to their draconic heritage and their smaller stature. I also like this progression for an Intimidate bump. Makes sense to me.

Mark of Frost

Least: Chilling Hands (1/day), Lesser Shivering Touch (1/day) or Resist Energy (1/day)
Lesser: Chill Metal (2/day), Sleet Storm (1/day), or Wall of Ice (1/day)
Greater: Cone of Cold (1/day), Ice Shield (2/day) or Shivering Touch (2/day)
Siberys: Polar Ray (1/day)

+2 to saves vs. Cold spells/effects
+1 to caster level for Cold spells

Prodigy: Frost Weapon* (1/day) or Lesser Ord of Cold* (1/day)
Adept: Creeping Cold* (2/day) or Ice Lance* (1/day)
Visionary: Greater Creeping Cold* (2/day) or Orb of Cold* (2/day)

In our campaign world, this mark will manifest true on Dwarves. It seemed to be a natural match given the origin of the dwarves on Eberron.

Dragonmark Destruction
Necromancy
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 9
Components: S, V
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: Touch
Target: Person Touched
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
The target may only regain his dragonmark through a Wish or Miracle spell..

I, personallyh, think this should be instantaneous (since only Wish or Miracle can undo it). I doubt it matters though.
