| Wymarc01-26-07, 06:44 PM | Ignoring the question of how to get there, What might be found in Dal Quor? The outer reaches are shaped by dreamers and the Dreaming Dark is at the center, but what is in between? I also had the idea of making will checks to cause different effects in the outer reaches, such as opening portals to other dreams, suspending gravity, slowing time, mutating the 'terrain', etc. Failure results in a point of wis damage that cannot be healed while on Dal Quor. Any thoughts on this? DC's maybe, or additional ideas? |
| DragoonDarkfire01-26-07, 06:51 PM | Well anything that a person dreams of is real so I guess there'd be Quori, obstacles and weird dreams for them to walk through. |
| heirodule02-27-07, 11:39 AM | I'm wondering about this myself. Some ideas. (I want MORE) So the quori have "magnificent domed cities" just outside of the dream bubbles where they feed on the energy of dreamers. So if you pop out of a dream bubble (you know you want to) you have to evade a city of dangerous quori. Do the domed cities architecture remind you vaguely of something... Rierdran architecture, maybe? I find it interestingly incongrouos for the quori to live in cities that look just like some really nice cities made for humans. Playing that up could be interesting. We need a "day in the life of a quori" article somewhere. Some planar hazards of dal quor would be interesting too. How challenging is it to break free of a dream bubble and get into quori-land. Will save? Wisdom check? Popping into someone elses dream-bubble to do intelligence gathering has potential too. The hashalaq wont like you muscling in on their territory |
| Magicianguy13102-27-07, 06:50 PM | I agree with everything above. I would also like (for my DM) a "non-psionic" dal qouri-thingy. He hates psionics but he likes the flava of Dal Quori. |

Wait, wait... does he want a 'non-psionic' Quori for another campaign or for an Eberron campaign? If it's the latter, I think that would be a problem, since most Quori seem to be connected heavily to psionic beings, they themselves being beings of the mind (dreams and all that...). |

Just add spell-like abilities or caster levels to quori instead of psionics. It'll take some work, but really, you don't generally fight quori in the flesh anyway. |

Yes and their is something in Heroes of Horror only it is a bit "loose" on the rules, stats, and whatnot. I think we need some clarification **sp?** on Dal Quor. Oh and for an Eberron one. He was going to do to change psionic to spells-like-abilities. Oh, but what should he do with the inspired natural psionic? and should be be sorcerers? Thanks |
| Sereno03-01-07, 09:31 AM | For a great idea of what you might get when adventuring in Dal Quor, I'd suggest reading The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath (http://www.dagonbytes.com/thelibrary/lovecraft/thedreamquestofunknownkadath.htm) by H.P. Lovecraft. Even if the overall "quest" in the story doesn't work for an adventure, the imagery and concepts are excellent. I have no problems imagining Dal Quor having such "static" landscapes and dream cities and stuff ... some could easily be the coherent dreams of lost civilizations or other homogeneous groups that used to live on Eberron. Maybe even dreams of the Giants.... |
| BleuDarkHeart03-01-07, 07:34 PM | I would look at the Dragon magazine article that contained a number of Quori in it. I forgot what issue but it was only about 6 month back at most. That article explained actually alot of the plane of DalQuor |
| jonci03-01-07, 08:21 PM | The adventurers could get lost in someone's dream. An old soldier that dreams of battles from the Last War. Teen reliving the night his home was invaded by goblins. With that sort of idea, you can play out a number of shifting settings and adventures. |

If you were to succede **sp?** on a Knowledge (Planes) or a will save you might be able to change the enviroment. I also assume that there are Dal Quori cities that cant be altered, and if so by a really high DC. |

Someone that shapes the city as he likes. If you allow PCs to try and alter a city, you could use it as a plot hook to get the local Overlord angry. |

The subjective directional gravity is supposed, by the rules, to be able to be altered with a DC 15 Wisdom check. MoP has a lucid dreaming *skill* but that would be non-standard. Its kinda irritating that inconsistent rules for dreamworlds have been done (MoP and Heroes of Horror). Maybe when Planes of Eberron comes out... ;) I'm running a bit with the idea that (at least a chunk of) Dal Quor is "symbolicaly" outlayed on the basis of the Deck of Many Things. So you have places corresponding to the various ideas of the cards. Realizing this will be part of the "trick". I'm really disappointed/confused that Dal Quor seems to have little to do with the Prophecy. I'd have thougth that the land of dreams would be a place where the prophecy was revealed, and that Turning the Age and the Prophecy would be linked in some fashion. But that doesn't seem to be the direction its going. |
| fiendish_platypus03-05-07, 08:19 AM | I think theres a section in HoH about dreams, you could use that as a start. Just a suggestion. |

Personaly I hold to the idea that Sarlona only seems to be a blind spot in the Prophecy and that once Dal Quor starts over it will be obvious that it has always been part of the Prophesy. The Prophesy is supposed to be one of the biggest things in Eberron after all. It would take a lot more then a hunk of land that isn't even trying to avoid the Prophesy to stop the Draconic Prophesy. |
