Flinx58 04-21-07, 06:11 PM	I was thinking of the idea of the typical Portable Hole + Workshop + Dedicated Wright = Magical Item Making Office. And while this may be a cheap and easy way to make Artificer Forge on the go, it doesn't exactly scream comfort, or style now does it? So the idea occured to me that perhaps there should be something... better! Maybe a Ring, tatoo, or similar object (with a command word?) that was attuned to a portal which would open into something like a Leomond's Magnificent Mansion or some other extra dimensional spell of the creators bent with some modifications to it. 1. The Homunculi Hidey Hole: A bit like a doggie door for your little guys, it would act similar to a familar pocket and allow them access to your magical domain. 2. The Worskhop: A place for your Dedicated Write to work while you are away. The door way would of course have a silence effect of some sort to dampen if not totally remove the noise of crafting items. 3. Kitchen: A nice place to hang out and make food, magical or otherwise. 4. Entertainment Area: because you know you want to party some where, or even just have guests. 5. Multiple Rooms: For not just you, but your part too. You ca charge em if you like for the nice place like a hotel. 6. Golem Staging Area: In combat, you may need your trusty BIG friends, why not have an area like a garage to which keep em on the go? Optional: A. Mass Unseen Servant for brining you that sandwhich if you're a lazy artificer. lol. B. Portable Doorway: allows you to set up temporary doors in other loactions C. An item or something to allow you access to your Golem Staging Area (or GSA) I suggest a rod of some sort, just drop and let it spend a round opening and let em pour out! I'd love to hear your alls ideas and thoughts for creation of something like this. Thanks.

AllWillFall2Me 04-24-07, 01:20 AM	And really, There's nothing in the spell that doesn't allow that. In fact, the only instance of the spell I've seen in novels (Not the best argument, but hey, what ever works.) was in Forgotten Realms (another potentially damning phrase), and the wizard who cast it had a lab/menagerie in his mansion. So really, you're just deciding the floor plan of your Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion.
Flinx58 04-25-07, 01:30 AM	Realms Lore also has those Safeholds. Those sounds like fun too. I need to read more. Some wizards create demiplanes... I dont see why it couldnt be done.
