I'm just taking a quick poll here really, to see if I'm on the same page as everyone else. The infusions Armor Enhancement and Weapon Augmentation (plus the Lesser and Greater versions thereof) require a costly material component described as "an ointment." There's a little bit more detail under the Lesser versions of the infusions that just adds that it's from rare spices and minerals. The more powerful the infusion, the more costly the ointment becomes.

How do you all run this? Do you require a total of six different ointment supplies, one for each version of the infusion? Is it just one big jar of generic Al's Artifier Goop?

Personally, the one time I've played an artificier I assumed that it was just two types of ointment (one for armor, one for weapons), and I just used more of it for the higher level spells. Thus if I had 100 GP worth of armor ointment, I could have 1 use of Greater Armor Enhancement, 2 uses of Armor Enhancement or 10 of Lesser Armor Enhancement.

To be honest, in my group we generally gloss over this type of stuff to avoid the confusion.

Our general house rule is that if you have the money for it, or had the money for it while in town, you've got it.

This only applies to simple things like ointments or basic spell components for lower level spells or infusions. The higher level stuff that requires certain minerals or special materials need to be bought.

You're handling it in a really good way. I think I'll steal it.
