Just interested on what the general opinion is on a house rule my DM and I have agreed on regarding the weapon and armour infusions Artificers get.

As far as we can tell, there is nothing at all stopping you using these spells to give your armour or weapon an x-times-per-day property, ie the one that gives you etherealness 1/day.
This seems remarkably overpowering when compared to 'always on' effects like Flaming or Frost of the same cost, considering these abilities are made cheaper by having the 1/day limitation which is not relevant in the least with the infusion. Therefore, we rule that these properties cannot be used.

Anyone else play like this, or are all properties fair game to your Artificers?

All properties are fair game.

You spend gold, xp & have a time limit to use your x/day effect.

How is that any different from granting the party paladin +5 full plate for the same time limit?
